This thread hasn't gone very well for me this morning.

I would be happy if we showed up for a change. It always seems to be over after the first half at Old Trafford with a carnival atmosphere among the Scum fans. Keep 11 men on the pitch at all times and you never know - a win would be great - may not win us the league but it'd be a great lift for the rest of the campaign.

And when was the last time we did the double over the scum?? Would be great to be able to do that.

I must admit however, that I am not feeling overly confident about the game, and considering the way the scum is playing now we will be facing a much thougher opponent than madrid.

I really hope we will win this, and hopefully we can take confidence in the CL match to old trafford. With no CL midweek game, we might even have full focus

I just want to see us put in a performance at their place instead of bottling it. We cack our pants when we get to Old Trafford when really the players should be buzzing off the atmosphere and flying in with a few kung fu two footed challenges.

As usual though Gerrard will be ****e, Torres will be kicked and booted everywhere by Vidic and Franz Ferdinand or Ferdinand, Rooney or some other retard like O'****e will score which seems to be the norm against us.

I can seeing us losing this one.....again! I'm not confident about us at Old Trafford I never am because you just know the team will be a let down. Sorry for the lack of optimism guys.

We beat them earlier this season with a 442 formation, without a player in the hole like Gerrard

Very good point that, utd are a totally different proposition to Real Madrid, i reckon Rafa will be thinking along the same lines, horses for courses so to speak.

Sadly, I kind of agree. I think if we play 4231 we'll be in trouble. Thing is, what other options do we have?!

The thing people like you fail to realise is that i dont CHOOSE to think that way. If you meet someone who likes you and you dont like them back, you're not CHOOSING to be a *******, it's just how you happen to feel - you dont control that.

Same kind of concept. I'd LOVE to genuinely believe we'll win, but i just dont.

It has **** all to do with support.

I know what you mean although I don't think that 4-2-3-1 is inherently the problem. I think as in the Real game we need to push forward Alonso more often and hence move the team forward - too often against United we have allowed them to determine where the game is played and by pushing back our midfield they have isolated Torres. Gerrard also has to learn that if we are being pushed back it is sometimes helpful to have people to pass to up the pitch and stop running back to get the ball. He has been improving in that area of late - I have some hope.

I don't think that's what he's getting at. Craig was probably confident of beating Real just as I was where as he's not confident of beating Utd which is totally understandable.

Lets face it, we're ****ing dross at their place. It will take an unbelievable performance tomorrow to beat them, a performance even better than that on Tuesday but I along with Craig and probably many others can't see it coming.

It's not about supporting the team or not. I've gone into big Man U games before believing we're going to win only to end up disappointed and let down with the performance.
