The thing people like you fail to realise is that i dont CHOOSE to think that way. If you meet someone who likes you and you dont like them back, you're not CHOOSING to be a *******, it's just how you happen to feel - you dont control that.
Same kind of concept. I'd LOVE to genuinely believe we'll win, but i just dont.
United striker Wayne Rooney is a boyhood Everton supporter
Manchester United have defended their decision to remove comments made by Wayne Rooney ahead of Saturday's clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford.
Rooney admitted to "hating" Liverpool in an article on United's website before the club removed the interview.
"In advance of the game we felt this was the best option," said a Manchester United spokesman.
"The comments are open to wilful mis-reporting and neither the club, nor Wayne wanted that to happen."
Rooney, who is a boyhood Everton fan, gave the interview to MUTV - the club's own broadcaster, after United's victory over Inter Milan on Wednesday.
He said: "I'm very excited about the game because I grew up as an Everton fan hating Liverpool, that hasn't changed."
Rooney's comments were not broadcast by MUTV but were used in an interview on their official website ahead of Saturday's mouth-watering Premier League clash.
Soon after the interview was picked up by media outlets across the globe, United took the decision to remove it with the club concerned some might "make a big deal of it" ahead of a game that generates intense rivalry between the two sets of fans.
I have a bad feeling that Utd are prepared to sacrifice a player in order to nobble Torres or Gerrard. If Utd are more than a goal ahead or behind, and/or it's late in the game, I just have a gut feeling that a Utd player will put in a nasty tackle to try and injure one of these 2 players. Probably someone they have enough cover for. Don't know why, just a feeling.
