My biggest mistake as a fan was signing up to Kraptalk.

Joe, this thread stinks of kettles and teapots and calling of.

My biggest mistake as a fan was buying the Liverpool 2002-2004 home shirt in the size small. I should have got the medium

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Mr M, that match will always haunt me as well. I remember about 10 minutes or so into the second half, with the score at 0-0 and them needing to beat us 2-0 to snatch the league off us and all the commentators saying they needed to score in the first half to stand a chance, I went out into my garden and did a lap of honour to celebrate our imminent title triumph. I came back in and it was 1-0 to Arsenal with Alan Smith having scored. I tried to ease my nerves by telling myself that they'd never score another goal at Anfield against us...

I'm sure there are others, the bet I put on the Cuntona cup final probably another standout moment, but that one scarred me more than anything.
oh my whole subbuteo team was destroyed after that game!! tears and tantrums gutted

No problem with this at all.......of course I've thought about this. All the times I've gone there to watch us surrender meekly. FFS.

Not that I was complaining in the slightest.

I suppose it's fair to say I gave up at half time in Istanbul - so much so that I could hardly bring myself to celebrate Gerrard's goal as I thought it was cruelly prolonging the inevitable.

I'd also given up at half-time. I remember saying to a stranger that I'd take 4-0 ....I was dreading 5, 6 or 7. Humiliation. I mean seriously....there can only have been a handful of people who genuinely thought we'd come back!

I celebrated Gerrard's goal precisely because it reduced the chance of humiliation. The one I didn't celebrate was the second goal - when Smicer scored I clearly remember thinking that it simply gave us hope that would turn out to be false.

I genuinely can't remember whether we gave up y'know. At half-time we thought **** it and opened a bottle of bubbly. The rest is something of a blur

My biggest mistake was probably going to the Cantona final

I went absolutely wild when Smicer scored. Wild.
