I see that, and expect most would agree, but say a manager won 4 la ligas, 6 Bundesliga's and 5 Serie A's , and he did it without being at the 'Bigger' clubs...but he just didn't want to manage in the Prem, would it really be fair to judge him solely on that decision ?

    And.... can we hire him.

I disagree, Rafa won his titles in Spain when it was a superior league to the prem. It also would not account for context either. Look where we where when Rafa took over and look at us now, massive improvement and that level of improvement is in its self achievement.

Yes which is why he's here. He wants to win the League just as much as anyone and i think he's clearly got the attributes a manager needs to do so. But it doesnt make him the best manager in the world. ****, if we were going by that then Moyes would be in the running considering what he done with what he's got.

I agree that just because you have won the league doesnt automatically make you the best manager in the world. But as far is im concerned if you can manage a team to win the league, you can manage any other team to trophys in any other league. Its the best of the best simple as.

But you could also make a case against looking at our performances in the league in seasons gone by.

Not the best manager yet. But I think this season has showed that he is improving.

He's delivered a title challenge this year and if we can go on to win it, it'll set Rafa up nicely. A PL title (and then hopefully a few more) and another CL win would leave his CV as being second to none.

He's within touching distance of immortality.

So that makes him the best manager in the world then.

                      Actually it's Rubbish.
                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

You won't admit it. A Fredian is as famous as a Freudian in these parts. Always trying to put down ones who are at the top.

Not sure if Rafa is the best manager around, but apparently he is on many fans' wish-lists to be their team's manager(can be read as Madrid, Milan, Valencia, Atletico or even Juve).

I saw the article on the official site. It's good that Benitez is recognised on the Continent. Ultimately, I don't think there's any such thing as the best manager in the world, so the whole thing is a bit futile...

Managers such as Ferguson, Benitez, Wenger and Mourinho are all world class. They all, however, have failings that the others do not, and qualities that separate them from the others. Depends on the club, and what they want to achieve and in the manner they wish to achieve it.
