Indeed, and the FA cup which is not to be sniffed at.

Had he won those with a club with lesser history he'd already be a legend. But he's at Liverpool whose history is covered in glory, and to be a legend at this club you have to do more than win a couple of cups, no matter how big the competition.

He'll always be remembered for the Istanbul and Cardiff due to the dramatic fashion of victory, but to be a legend takes more.

    Just my opinion like.

Brian Kidd's dimpled builder's cleavage will forever be etched on my mind.

We need United to drop points tomorrow for the title to be truly 'on' IMO - and hopefully a wounded Villa will dig deep for a draw with ten behind the ball - but at start of the year I wanted at least a genuine title challenge to set us up for the following season, and now I have it. We're going the right way, the mid-season shackles are well and truly off and the early season swashbuckling 'Pool are back. Shame they ever went missing!

I haven't given up on it this year or anything, just being realistic as we're still potentially four points behind with seven to play, but boy am I enjoying it. If United slip again soon and we keep winning, then it's really on.

If Heskey bundles home a jammy late winner with his arse tomorrow, I'll orgasm spontaneously.

Just curios Danny but how long would you give Rafa if we came say 2nd this year?
I've been quite vocal on this site for my support of Rafa in the past. And I will stand by what I always say.

That is to keep Rafa on until LFC stop going forwards under his management. Under Houllier the season we came 5th it was probably clear to more than just me that Houllier was no longer taking the club forward and was heading to a crossroads. He desreved to stay on another year due to his previous success, but after scraping 4th the next season he had obviously run his course.

Rafa is obviously progressing Liverpool as a club and clearly deserves to stay and deserves his contract extension. We are no longer the biggest spenders in the league and have to be realsitic with our expectations, but as long as We come where we should be coming I would accept that.

To answer I would say that if LFC were to finish second, and next season we were to finish 4th on 70 points, I would still stick with him. But if the following season he was to again come 4th on 70 points then his position would have to be looked at. Of course, that would all be dependant on results in other competitions. Two 4th place finishes and two European Cups would obviously mean he should be kept on.

Anyhow, at present I have full confidence in Rafa and am delighted he signed a new deal.

Brilliant day, absolutely ecstatic. We've had a few of those amazing winners this year, and i didnt think anything could beat City away, but that was just unbelievable today.

The reaction of the players, the subs, the coaches - everything. My voice & throat has taken a battering today but i'm delighted about it. Stayed in the ground for a good 20 mins singing, and enjoyed seeing the stewards making a few pointless attempts to tell Reds to make their way out of the ground

Today could be so pivotal in this title race, the mancs would've been watching that and the goal would've absolutely devestated them. All the pressure on them now for tomorrow, i'm just praying Villa can step up to the plate and get something.

The way the last few weeks has gone, with numerous 'unbelievable' things happening, just makes you think. So many things have defied logic in the last few weeks and it just makes you wonder whether it's written for us this year. The season where the mancs can equal our record. The season after they won the PL and CL in the same month. The 20th anniversary of Hillsborough. It reminds me of a piece of commentary that Andy Gray said in Istanbul. "When Andriy Shevchenko misses from there - well, you might as well start writing Liverpool's name on this cup"

I just wonder if it's our destiny and some kind of higher power is deciding that it's finally our time.

Craig you live down fulham way don't you?

I echo your sentiments but its all about the players having belief. They just refuse to give up and that hunger is whats driving us now. Everybody from fans to players know that the opportunity is there and the hunger to win is just pushing it alll the way. Today a few of the guys were tired but they never let that stop them.
