When asked about Fergies comments: He said fergie will be supporting us tomorrow night because he knows if we go out of the champions league we will be stronger in the premier league!

When asked if it was mind games he said: No, i think he is just scared.

It's a game of 'who puts the pressure first' now. They're a bit relieved they won on Sunday so they're trying to crank up the pressure on us. If we win it will be the other way round, especially in the league. Fergie's used to this sort of pressure and I don't think he's too concerned about us or Chelsea to be fair.

You could not be further from the truth there IMO.

For the first time in many years he is worried about a genuine threat from the team he had to overhaul, Liverpool. He would have seen us beat Fulham on Saturday and felt gutted because we are getting so many late winners, a trait his teams have shown throughout the last 15 odd years.

And, more than anything he wants our records, so trust me he is rattled by us and is actively playing the mind games. He wants to put the pressure on us because he is realising that this team is the genuine article and could win it this year.

I agree but don't tell me he hasn't got experience of these kinds of situations, so I feel it hard to believe he's really 'rattled' as you say, IMO.

So he is affected by it but not 'rattled'?

Rattled is a bit extreme isn't it? He could be affected surely because the league is still in the balance.

Who do they have to play for their game in hand?

yes he has and that's why he is scared. He can feel we are back even if we don't do it this season we are back.

Of course he is feeling the pressure, but he is very clever. When Liverpool scored late Rafa was clever enough to paper over the cracks of not finishing chances by saying it shoed the great mental strength of the team. This had even the cynics on this site drooling that we had a great chance to win it.

Against Villa Ferguson did exactly the same. His team put in a trully shocking performance and were saved in all reality by poor decisions by the lineman. But he is hardly gonna come out and say he is worried by this. Instead he showed his shrewdness by saying that the late victory would galvanise his team. These comments have once again taken a bit of the pressure off and kept the fans on his side. Tonight they go into tonights game expecting a win, despite such a rubbish performance and a lack of rest. Clever.
