Quite right. But no defence in world football can handle him when he's on his game. He is unplayable when he fancies it.

I'm sure that can't be right, but no more than 5 anyhow. But I do think they are the only two............

nah, we've conceded more than that. We conceded a few to Everton - that ****er Cahill.

Its irrelevant though. Its not the system thats to blame, its the players not implimenting the system properly. Individual errors.

He's not been great, but I doubt anyone coming on would have had much impact today for us. We were swaying like a drunken boxer on the ropes and were easily kept at arms length. I got the impression that Babel could have dribbled round four and still have got nowhere near their goal at the point he came on.

I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Liverpool can only play in one way. When teams are open, we can pass around them. Chelsea today shut out all the space and monopolised the ball extremely well today. I think Alan Shearer today will have taken some really good notes.
What, today yeah? WE (notice how I refer to my team that way) didn't want it as much as them today and it showed. We paid for it, but I see no point in calling it quits. AC Milan 'didn't have to play' after the first half in Istanbul, did they? The chances might be slim but it's no impossible dream. Btw I don't think there's any reason to think a rookie like Shearer's notes will count for **** all.

Surely that has to be eradicated? Its happening a bit too much. We don't even score from set pieces ourselves. United and Chelsea have always had threats in their team. Skrtel has never scored for us. Vidic has already scored a few this season.

Andy Gray could not WAIT to get his jibe in about zonal marking as soon as it went to 1-1.

As Shaggy says, I'm a bit stunned and gutted but you can't complain. We were made to look 2nd rate for 85 minutes tonight.

...and that's that. We either **** them over something special in the second leg or we're out. The league is another matter entirely - it's important now we show ourselves as much as others that our league form remains untouched by this. If we do that we can retain the momentum we need to make a success of our season, if we don't we won't.
                          Spot on.

Just had too many hesitant players who uncharacteristically were out of touch. Tried to get over it immediately by watching The Apprentice, but that was even worse...

Fair enough. Cahill sticks in the memory. I remembered reading soemthing not so long back saying we have the best record from set-pieces this year, maybe that was just the league?

He did dribble round four then forgot to pass or do something constructive with the ball, he needs to be aware of other players. If he understood his limitations he could be a really useful player.

Anyway, we've got nothing to lose, an early goal will get them thinking, score a second and they'll start panicking.
