Exactly what I was thinking. Frode Kippe - Skrtel. Phill Babb - Carragher. Steve Harkness - Arbeloa. Stig Inge Bjornbye - Aurelio. **** at heading and can't influence or pass from the back.

You are seriously out of order here. Criticise the manager and team, yes, but don't go chucking disrespectful **** like that at them - the delight you take in it makes you sound like a scum-supporting WUM. We were outplayed last night by a strong team with a great manager behind them - just accept that and get back behind your own team if you genuinely support them.

I'll even say that you should just shut your gob off permanently as long as you don't try to be a bit more mature in your reasoning and by the way your word what's actually in your mind. And there are far too many poster here who respond to his posts with equally childish and purile insults. He is more critical than most fans I know but he is not unique in his outlook. Why anyone would feel the need to resort to agressive name calling in response is beyond me. Put it this way, I'd rather see a couple of uber critical and sarcastic comments on a thread than half a dozen 'cunt' '******' etc posts.

Well, there's a point in there, although in this specific case I disagree. In all honesty, had I been thinking, and not in a hurry to go out last night, I would have deleted that particular post of Joe's rather than quoting it as I did, for 2 reasons. First because I'm sorry but calling our own manager names like that is just offensive to many people; you can read plenty of that on redcafe but its got no place on a lfc fansite imo. Bourne out of frustration and instant reaction to a loss, yeah, maybe, but its still out of order, not least for the strong hints of racial stereotyping.

Second, it should have gone because of the inevitable reaction, as seen in the following pages. Unfortunately its a bit late to remove it, and all the comments about it now, but I hope all that needs to be said about it has been already, and after this hopefully people will choose to respond to the better thought out posts in this thread, as opposed to the worst.

But mate, what about the poster himself who continues to spout the same **** each time we lose? You'll tell me I have to put him on ignore but that's not the point. credit to chelsea there game plan worked a treat and they were excellent
Essien took Steive out of the game but was still able to contribute to his side's attack.
They exposed our defence when our full backs went forward and that was down to excellent passing. Masher would of made a difference here and it will be a disaster if Stevie doesn;t learn from this.
Drogba must be one of the worst players for a defender to play agaist and when they are all on form. Gus has done a great job there and shows why he is one of the best managers in world.

We've been crying out for Rafa to play more attacking football. We've started doing so and if Torres or Kuyt had had a bit better luck we could be talking a different game today. But that's football.

As much as i'm gutted the style of football we've been playing is great to watch and it will leave us exposed.

Because Chelsea don't have to play against us. They can play with a ten man defence next week. With your thesis, that would mean we should still score. Not really going to happen.

Liverpool can only play in one way. When teams are open, we can pass around them. Chelsea today shut out all the space and monopolised the ball extremely well today. I think Alan Shearer today will have taken some really good notes.

Looking back and now sober, I have to say that Hiddink taught Rafa a tactical lesson there. Alonso & Gerrard taken almost totally out of the game and were pretty ineffective, which makes us ineffective.

In reality they could've score 5 or 6...Our back line was awful, I really think we need Agger back in place of Skrtel. Skrtel for me has poor awareness, is quite bad under pressure, not good with the ball at his feet and many, many times he seems to stay rooted to the ground on crosses. He's aggressive in the tackle and has a decent engine, but thats pretty much it. Not the best display from Aurelio and Arbeloa either.

Fair play the the chavs, they were cracking last night, Hiddink is first class and I hope he buggers off at the end of the season.

Firstly, apologies if this point has already been raised but I have not read through this whole thread for obvious reasons.

In a way we can take a positive from this defeat IMO - we have had a reality check and the players have realised they are not untouchable (in case some ever believed that). This will bode well for us in the remaining league games because I am not sure we could ever have expected to go on a non-stop winning run until the end of the season.

However, that now is a possibility in the league because our hot streak is over. So let us start another winning streak. Bring on Blackburn and let them feel the rebound ko from this very poor result.

Finally, credit due to Chelsea - they were superb in almost every department and the scoreline in all fairness could have been worse but for some woeful finishing and Pepe. Onwards and upwards for the red men!!

Of course he's top class but that doesn't mean he's better than Rafa ultimately. Other players in our team should have profited from the man marking Essien was doing on Gerrard, but we obviously don't have enough players of that ilk, who with his quality, would have been able to use that to our advantage.

We win we lose, it's only one match and Chelsea has exposed our frailties, much like we did to United the other day. Fair enough, it's only a battle lost.
