**** it. Play a second string team in the second leg and dare i say it, concentrate on the league.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

If any team can turn this around we can. It's going to take a miracle, but we can rise to the challenge.

"Anfield has rarely ended a Champions League game in such subdued mood - and that is a tribute to Chelsea and their master coach Guus Hiddink, who has transformed a side that appeared to be out on its feet when he came in to replace Luiz Felipe Scolari.

"The Kop delivers a defiant rendition of "You'll Never Walk Alone" - and to the credit of some Liverpool fans in Anfield's Main Stand, they applaud Chelsea off.

"Liverpool have pulled off plenty of escape acts in the past, but it is hard to see Chelsea letting this one slip, even without suspended captain John Terry in the second leg."

BBC Sport's Phil McNulty at Anfield

Complacency, lack of fight and imagination and finally the inability of our defenders to defend.2 free headers count 'em 2.

          Absolute dross

We missed Mash massively tonight but Chelsea were the better side tonight. I'm gutted but can't really complain too much

              Bollocks to that!

Play a full strength team, go and get an early goal and see where we can go from there.

well said...we can't blame it on the ref or being unlucky...we got beat on the day by a good team..we should and could have won, but that is football and that is why we love it so

Yeah, the ref had a good game to be fair. Booked Terry for that ridiculous challenge on Pepe despite Andy Gray's protests.

Richard Keyes laughing after the final whistle made my blood boil though...the plimsole!

Forget about the corners, if you can. This season, despite what Andy Gray was saying during the game, we have been excellent at defending set-pieces. What made me angry more than anything was the amount of chances they had from open play. Drogba should have had a hat-trick.

They were just rubbish all round. But it happens. I expect a response against Blackburn, though I expect Allardyce is already creaming himself at the sight of our set-piece defending.

                      Are you watching Chris Samba?

I would play Hyypia on Saturday and take Skrtel off.

I would even sell Arbeloa - the guy looks hesitant in opponents half.

Good to see you are sticking by the boys and not coming out with your usual knee jerk reactions........

We were rubbish, but one bad game does not make a bad team.

                            Hang on....

We score 4+1 past Real Madrid 4 past the mancs and 5 past Villa.

Why can't we get 3 at Stamford Bridge??

Not the best performance tonight but no reason why we can't regroup and get back at them next week...

We’ve always done things the hard way under Rafa. We tend to do better when we are chasing a game, a final, a Premiership title. We can beat Chelsea next week but scoring 3 goals might be too much. Rafa will have to win the tactical battle against probably the best manager in world football.

Really missed Masch today, they overpowered us in midfield, not surprising as it was 3 v 2. They took Gerrard out out the game and no-one else stood up to be counted.
