Why can't we get 3 at Stamford Bridge??

Not the best performance tonight but no reason why we can't regroup and get back at them next week...
Because Chelsea don't have to play against us. They can play with a ten man defence next week. With your thesis, that would mean we should still score. Not really going to happen.

Liverpool can only play in one way. When teams are open, we can pass around them. Chelsea today shut out all the space and monopolised the ball extremely well today. I think Alan Shearer today will have taken some really good notes.

Too many of our players just didnt turn up. When Gerrard is being man marked like that we really need the other players in the team to stand up and be counted. Lucas was just ok again... nothing special. The Chelsea players looked happy for him to have the ball. Absolutely ****ed a couple of shots from decent positions too.

Kuyt looked bright early on but faded. Aurelio had his worst game for us in a long, long time. Riera did absolutely nothing. And with the exception or Benayoun, our subs were even worse than the players they replaced, despite being fresh.

Our team is crying out for another match winner from wide positions.

Credit to Chelsea though, who came back well after the early goal. Deserved at least 1-3.

Hindsight is wonderful but Agger could have filled that midfield void.
        Another MASSIVE game

They wanted it more. They played better. We were turd at the set-pieces.

...and that's that. We either **** them over something special in the second leg or we're out. The league is another matter entirely - it's important now we show ourselves as much as others that our league form remains untouched by this. If we do that we can retain the momentum we need to make a success of our season, if we don't we won't.

and that would be great for us.
They aren't the same without Terry

Maybe Rafa took some notes as well eh?

We just cant defend them. Its shocking to see how our players end up bunched, miles away from the ball. Our players just dont get it. We would be top of the league, and still in with a shout of the CL if we defended corners correctly. At while I am at it... attacking corners. We are **** at those too.

Perhaps we can lobby fifa to ban set pieces.
So how many corners have we conceded from this season?
"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."

you're a disgrace mate. Talk about sing when you're winning.

****s sake, we came back from 3-0 in 45 mins against a Milan side who had only conceded about 2 goals (something ridculous anyway) in the entire competition up until then.

We made two mistakes against Chelsea from set pieces and they scored two goals. Who's to say they wont make two mistakes against us?

How old are you anyway? Havent you been watching football long enough to know that nothing is certain?

Actually, I take it back. One thing is for certain. If our players share your attitude for the next game we will lose.

Seriously mate............. I can guarantee you prior to todays game that every manager in the premier league knew exactly how to stop liverpool. Problem is that no team who we have come up against have the players capable of doing that.

Makalele on more than one occasion sat on gerrard and stopped us playing. We had the same formation last year against Chelsea and they did exactly the same thing, all be it they were more positive going forward with the ball today, and showed far more desire than the Liverpool players.

But I agree, we areout the tie for the exact reasons you suggest. We got 4 v Mancs and Real as they had no option but to chase the game.
                      Forwards.......

If we go all out attack, they will score on the break, our defence cant handle Drogba.

Too many. I agree two to many. But to my mind I think they were the first two we hace conceded all season.

I'm sure that can't be right, but no more than 5 anyhow. But I do think they are the only two............

I wouldn't want to single any individual player out, but Babel is just terrible at the moment. He can't do anything effectively, hugely frustrating. He should give everything whenever the opportunity arises to prove himself, but he does **** all.
