WTF. I'm ****ting bricks everytime we concede a corner, we never look in control of them.
Gerrard is **** at taking corners, I'd much rather he were lurking on the edge of the box. We seem to just waste our opportunities, especially when Hyypia isn't playing and there's nobody in particular to aim towards.

I am majorly pissed off with tonight; but not as much as I will be if we lose our next Prem' game

They did a 'Liverpool' to us tonight; lets get over with it and 'believe' for the return leg

I would hazard a guess and say that before the game the whole club was starting to drift towards the title and nothing else. You only had to visit these forums and read what 90% of us have been saying. It's a shame we were not up for it today, but we move on.

I just hope we keep fighting for the title and make a promising end to the season stay positive.
          Forwards.......

And there are far too many poster here who respond to his posts with equally childish and purile insults. He is more critical than most fans I know but he is not unique in his outlook. Why anyone would feel the need to resort to agressive name calling in response is beyond me. Put it this way, I'd rather see a couple of uber critical and sarcastic comments on a thread than half a dozen 'cunt' '******' etc posts.

definitely, alonso or aurelio should be better at corners with stevies heading ability and instinct for goal its a total waste, we rarely do well from set pieces

The CL is just a sideshow to the main event while we're still in the title race.

                    Absolutely gutted.

It's the first time we've lost this season where we've actually been outplayed and deserved to lose. Fair play to Chelsea, Hiddink knew how we'd play and did a great job of nullifying our threats. We didnt perform and perhaps believed a bit of the recent hype and with the early goal got complacent.

No complaints though, the best team won and we move on. It could be the reality check we need or it could severely dent our confidence. Our game against Blackburn is now the BIGGEST game of the season so far and by mid-afternoon we'll know if we've still got a chance of a trophy this year.

I think the tie is pretty much over but an early goal next week and you never know.

I've just watched that game from pitch level and Chelsea gave us a lesson in high-tempo pressing and high-tempo footbal (on the day)l. They were ****ing awesome, Essien and Lampard especially.

We didn't put our chances away though, it cost us big time

Everyone was stunned to be honest. First time I've been and seen us lose at Anfield this season. Playing at home in the 2nd leg definitely suits us

                            Shocking. Truly awful. Both true.

Over? **** no. It's going to be one hell of a task, and the chances are highly unlikely, but we are more than capable of scoring three there.
What I can't quite believe is that a team that were unstoppable three weeks ago were so far below average tonight. Aurelio in particular was a nightmare, but then no one had a good game.

Really need a response on Saturday, but **** off it's over.

I'm sure plenty of people will blame Rafa (sorry I mean the Spanish Waiter ), or Lucas, but players like Aurelio, Skrtel etc were making mistakes all night, and it was set pieces that cost us. Gerrard was pretty anonymous to be fair as well. It was just a poor performance all round but it seems like some people can't ****ing wait to get back to their slagging ways. Fickle as ****.

Very poor performance, didnt do ourselves justice at all and maybe after recent results, complacency set in. Credit to Chelsea, that was the best visiting performance i've seen at Anfield for a very long time.

In all sense of reality, we're out of the CL now but you never know, if we can strike early at their place, anything can happen. Maybe it could be the wakeup call we need to go on now and win all 7 league games. If we've started believing the hype and if a defeat was due, i'd rather it happened tonight than in the league.

No real blame for Rafa, the players just failed to step up and they need to look at themselves. After a great start, we just sat back, invited them onto us, gave the ball away and gave them chances. Dreadful defending from corners, something needs to be done quickly to resolve that. Could've been different if Kuyt hadnt missed a sitter just after they'd scored, but that's life.

Just make sure we batter Blackburn on Saturday, there's still a Premier League race on and we're still very much in it. Onward.
