Are we better than Man Utd?

The best team wins the league so if they win it they were the best team over the season. We were very poor in the new year, united were proclaimed the winners by the media and rafa was under pressure. I think what has happened since then could be the turning point for this team. We have been incredible and despite some defensive lapses that cost us against Arsenal and Chelsea, we have been the best team in the league in the last two months. We look confident and if we keep the core squad together and add some quality we could win this next year.

Since the defeat against Boro we have been far and away the best team in the league. Only one poor performance since then and that was at home to Chelsea, where simply no one turned up. We've not been perfect and have made mistakes, but in both 4-4 games we were easily the better team.

Over the course of the season I would say neither team can claim to easily being the best. At the start Chelsea looked great, then it was turn to show title credentials, before Man Utd came to the fore. We looked out of it but have done well to give ourselves a fighting chance, especially as the Mancs just seem to keep churning out marginal results.

There are a few areas of the park that we are stronger than them, but generally they have a better squad and a manager who has seen it all before with them with regards to the Prem, which makes a big difference in my mind.

As long as we sign some top quality players (as opposed to more mid priced squaddies) over the summer, I think we will win the league next season. I also have a sneaky feeling that if Hiddink stays on next season, Chelsea will be our main rivals for the title. Utd have ridden their luck this season, as have we at times.
