I dont think there'd be much point in a 100k stadium, neither us nor them would fill it.Originally posted by Rafael Benítez Maudes View Postif we were stuck with the american owners.and there was no chance of a new stadium with these two fools in charge.
and our only option was to share with everton
say a 100,000 capacity stadium.
would you all say no?
The problem is that H&G look to me as if they'll basically never be able to fund a new stadium. Literally never.
So while they're in charge, and while we're at Anfield, every single year, we're falling further and further behind the mancs in terms of revenue generation.
We're miles behind now and we'll get further behind the longer we're at Anfield. I dont want to share with Everton but i also recognise that by continuing to stay at Anfield with no more than 45k each game, we'll never be able to regularly compete for and win the title.

Thanks to Rafa we've managed to compete, but long term as you say, due to lack of revenue compared to our main rivals, it will just get harder and harder for him to keep us where we are, let alone win Titles on a regular basis, which is what we, Liverpool Fc aspire to.

What options are those then?Originally posted by squaddie View PostIts not worth thinking about though is it. Being honest (and im sure plenty would agree) in a perfect world if Anfield could bring in the amount of money a 100,000 seater stadium i'd rather just stay there. But thats not going to happen.
At the end of the day if it was our only option would we be able to say no?.....The fact of the matter is we do have options.....much better ones than a ****in ground share.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Wait to see what happens with the re-finance and pray to god someone buys the Yank cunts out..........Better option than resigning ourselves to a ****ing ground share imo......... for the time being at least anyway.“…Slip like Freudian, your first and last step to playing yourself like accordion.”

That's just hoping, they are not options. The yanks would rather groundshare than sell the club for someone else to develop the new ground.Originally posted by squaddie View PostWait to see what happens with the re-finance and pray to god someone buys the Yank cunts out..........Better option than resigning ourselves to a ****ing ground share imo......... for the time being at least anyway.
Our current options are no new ground.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Basically what im trying to say, is at this moment in time a ground share should not be an option and I dont think it will be unless it comes down to the wire. (if it is taken seriously this year or the next then its a ****ing joke) Also no one really knows whats going to happen with the Yanks. Unless you know something i dont?“…Slip like Freudian, your first and last step to playing yourself like accordion.”

This is about opinions guys. Everybody can express them as they wish, this is called free speech. Why should we be concerned about someone talking up a shared stadium? It does make sense economically; but everyone knows that isn't possible. We must have our own identities as clubs.

Why doesn't he just let it go once and for all, or name these so called 'backers' if they exist so we all know where we stand.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's quite a few at the top who wouldn't object to a groundshare, especially seeing how successful it can be in other countries and thinking of the cost. However, they would never admit it in public, as that would amount to public suicide.
However, if the choice came down to staying at a 45,00 seater stadium and forever losing ground to the likes of United, or moving to a shared 70,000 seater stadium, then a fair number of people would chose to see the club keep its "identity" but be forever in the shadows...
...or keep on dreaming that some rich billionaire will come along and happily spunk £500 million on a stadium with no hope of ever seeing that money again in his lifetime.

I'm going to get slated for this but I don't see the problem with it.
Inter and AC share the San Siro and I would rather sell 75,000 every other week (which we could imo) and compete with Utd on revenue generated from ticket sales than struggle on as we are.
Utd sell 30,000 more tickets than us for every single home game, 30 ****ing thousand at what, average price of £30?? so approx 1 million more every home game after including merchandising/drinks/etc...
The 'Liverpool Way' may have worked in the 70's & 80's. The 'Utd Way' is the only way to have sustained success today and moving forward unless a rich Russian or Arab gets involved with us and there were plently of opportunities for anyone with enough money to do that before these 2 dicks took the plunge. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.
