Then like shaggy says - i am in work, and the draw usually breaks up the day and gives us a bit of a talking point - by 5pm i will be on my way home and logged off est well until next wednesday so by time i get back on it will be an old topic and i've missed the discussion.

Every year a club is given a marking for their success in Europe that year.

118.899 is the average over a number of seasons (5?). It means a club is rewarded for it's continued success over the years.

If you're not in Europe that year you get a zero. If a team like Sunderland made the CL next year they'd have a score of 0 due to not having played in Europe and would be seeded last (or joint last).

Actually I think if any team that has not competed in Europe, qualifies then that team receives the league coeffiencent as its base rating. I don't believe they have a rating of zero.

Now that does look tough. I think the best bet would be avoiding a tough team from the third tier. Then it's just a battle with the second tier team for first place.

I think the odds are definitely in favour of us getting a tough team from the second pot. But we'd have to be unlucky to also get a tough team from the third pot.
