We were very very poor, especially in the attacking third. We over elaborated and seemed to take one touch too many. We seem to be lacking in confidence. This Bolton team should have been dismissed easily. We conceded two soft goals from long balls and set pieces. Something is not right and we're dependent on one or two players, who have been below par (Torres, Gerrard).
Torres, apart from his goalscoring exploits, has been quite poor lately. Not sure if its match fitness or him still feeling the after effects of the confederations cup, but his touch has not been there and he always seem to run in blind alleys. Maybe he's not receiving the ball into good positions.
We have to improve a lot and quick as I can't see us getting away with it week after week. The decision to send off Davis actually played in our favour as Bolton retreated back in defence. But each time there's a long ball being played in our defence, it's almost panic buttons being hit. Kyriakos has been decent and his main asset it seems is the fact that he is excellent in the air.
Roll on to next week but there's a lot of work to be done. We don't look like title contenders right now.

Not much of them have hit the target and most of them have been half chances and half hearted effort on goal. We maybe had 3 clear cut chances to score and we missed all of them, trying to walk the ball into the net.Originally posted by Assassin View PostFredo we had 26 strikes on goal with 13 of them on target!
I can understand our pedestrian like possession football as it seems Rafa has been telling the lads to concentrate on possession instead of pushing all the time, but **** me, this Bolton team was there for the taking. They are ****ing rubbish.

We can thank Sean Davis for that win. Until he was sent off we were going to lose
I still can't quite believe we have that rangers reject in our defence. Lucas and Mascherano are simply not creative or dominant enough together and Gerrard was barely in the game until the red card.
3 points maybe, but this team is not good enough. Im afraid Lucas has to give way now as at 11 v 11 it was clear that he offered nothing to the team. I agree now, move Gerrard into CM until Aquaman is fit

we passed the ball better when gerrard moved into the centre...think its time he moved back there for a few games anywayOriginally posted by -V- View PostWe can thank Sean Davis for that win. Until he was sent off we were going to lose

****, now it's internationals, breaking up the rhythm.Originally posted by Bender View Postnext game 12th september.Liverpool v Burnley...internationals coming up now
We needed a run of consecutive games just to get the hang out winning and building our confidence, now this ****e.
Lucas lacks confidence. He doesn't want to try things. We lack someone like that in central midfield at the moment and I think now is the time for Gerrard to move back there.Originally posted by -V- View PostWe can thank Sean Davis for that win. Until he was sent off we were going to lose

Judging by all that has been said I think he'll be back after the Sunderland game. Missing five more premiership games on that basis.Originally posted by fin7 View Postjust glad to get the 3 points, burnley at home next, should be three points and build a bit more confidence, how far is aquiliani off full fitness?Forwards.......

I think the break actually comes at a good time.Originally posted by fredo View Post****, now it's internationals, breaking up the rhythm.

Allows are injured players more time to recover, whilst Kyrgiakos, Carra and Insua all hopefully stay at Melwood and get some time on the training pitch.
Does the Greek still play international football?Forwards.......

Yes he does. It gives recovery time for Skrtel and Agger though.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI think the break actually comes at a good time.
