    Preston in for Mellor

Lancashire Evening Post and Preston Today have reported that Preston are looking at Mellor. He`s currently back in light training. A this according to the norwegian site.
If there are any offers for him I think we should sell. He`s never going to make it at LFC, is injury prone and to slow. Even if we get

    Pray do take him!

Like you say those goals against Arsenal and Olympiakos will long be remembered, but it's best for all concerned he moves on now. Good luck to you Neil!

I think he has done all he will ever do in the first team. The only reason t keep him would be our lack of forwards in the reserves (I think the aim has to be to play as close to the formation and style of the first team as possible). I hope we sell him as he has some talent and deserves to get some first team football and he is as you say just taking up wages with us.

We should let him go for free.

I know he's a nice lad, but he must be 23/24 by now, injury prone, sluggish and ultimately not good enough.

If we can't sign a fourth striker by Aug 31st, at least we know Rafa can hang onto Pongolle if need be.

        Thanks for the memories Neil.

Too old to play in Rafa's youthful Reserves, not good enough to hold a place down in the first team squad. Mellor's time at Anfield has elapsed.

Should do well in a Championship team, or even maybe a Watford/Reading/Fulham type club.

Obviously he knows where the goal is, which is a good talent to have, but he isn't mobile enough to make it in the upper reaches of the premiership.

I saw him in Puerto Banus last month.
He has very poor table manners and eats like he's about to have his food taken away from him.
Another reason to sell him, I reckon.

God luck to him - he'll have some great memories from his time with us, as will we for his goals against Arsenal and Olympiakos.

                    All the best lad.

Are you the real brendan from koptalk?

I'm new to this forum, so I don't know...

Too large for the first team...

Decent player but not LFC material. Good luck to him wherever he ends up at.
