    Agger Injury?

    Agger's back playing up again.

That injury is getting seriously worrying at this stage.
How many times has he been out with it now, and seems to be back for 2 games before being out again with it!
Plus he's already had an op, doesn't look like it was a perfect success does it?

Mentioned in the liverpool post, that there's concerns about him being unavailable for our next 2 games.

"Benitez’s concerns for Agger are explained because he is desperately needed for the next two Barclays Premier League matches against Manchester City and Everton FC.
Fellow defender Jamie Carragher will be completing his three-match suspension and misses both of those key matches.
If Agger is not fit, Benitez has only a fledgling partnership of Martin Skrtel and Sotirios Kyrgiakos in central defence for those two vital games."

Sounds bad, plus another thought; I was led to believe Carra only misses the one game (Brum one) not 3 games.
Anyone got the definitive answer on that?

He might have to stop playing. He said he considered that during the summer.

Unfortunately, i can see him retiring if it goes bad again.

Such a shame, that a player with the potential as Agger, is dogged with injuries.

Yeah I think I've read similar stuff. And that would be tragic, he's almost the complete defender in my opinion... and if he can go a season or two without serious injury then he's surely one of the best defenders in Europe.

Me too chap. Degen has a three match ban and Carra one match, I'm certain.

              Sack certifiable!!

Reminds me of Rob Jones. Such potential blighted by an injury

Didn't Carra get two yellows? That's just one game, where did you read this?

He got a straight red for a Professional foul which should only be a 1 game ban surely?. Degan got a straight red for dangerous play which is a 3 game ban , Not sure but it's what I have always thought?

I honestly think its time to sell Agger if Milan are prepared to pay the reported £10m they were ready to pay last year.

Fair enough on his day he is our best centre-back, but he has been unavailable for about 50% of the time.

The key to a strong defence is a consistent centre-back parternership i.e. Sami & Henchoz. We need to buy a top class pacey centre-back to play alongside Carra.

Everyone seems to be talking about our attacking problems this season but our strikers and midfielders have been scoring. The problem is we are conceding at least one goal per match, until this weak defence is sorted this season aint improving.

We'd be completely nuts to sell Agger!!!

The only possible reason we'd have to sell him if we knew for definite that he was never going to recover from his back problems and wanted to flog him before he was worth nothing. As far as I know that hasn't happen yet.

Agger is our best defender by a county mile, milan would never pay 10million now anyway.

Agger is key to our success imo.

Read a couple of days back that the physio for the danish national team said that Aggers back problem could take 1-1½ year before it's fixed properly. Apparently the injury is caused by some muscels not being strong enough to support his back, and they need to be trained which can take a long time.

Apparently it all comes down to the way Agger moves/runs around a pitch, which according to the physio resembles the way ballet-dancers move around, and they get a lot of the same injuries if not training their back muscles enough. It is not really serious if he gets the needed amount of time to train.

I can sorta see what he means by the way Agger moves - he is just to gracious for the game of football!!

Isn't this similar to Gerrard's back injury when he was breaking through?
