    ok

I'd like to keep all our players and not play swopsies as I prefer them to manc players.

    Is that better ?

I would not take a player from united as long as I have a hole in my arse. I was absolutely gutted when we signed paul (guv`nor:whatever: ) ince, and that wasnt even straight from them.

Yeah but if Rooney suddenly saw the light and realised that the RED half of Liverpool was the place to be would you be against us signing him??

            Yes. 100% against it.

Taking current form, which is all that matters on Sunday...

This I agree with, pretty much. Vidic has two goals this month. However, I would swap out Alonso for (sorry) Scholes, who has his scoring boots on as well and has created a ton of chances and scored some goals for United recently. Alonso has been below par so far this year. My two cents.

Back to reality, I do think the back 4 is a wash and Rooney hasn't been finding the net either. If Finnan can stay home and close down Ronaldo (who has been excellent) and Carra/Hyypia can hang with Rooney/Saha, there is no reason why Crouch and Kuyt can't torture Neville/Vidic/Ferdinand (blah)/Heinze if Stevie/Momo/Xabi can get stuck in against Carrick/Giggs/Scholes.

Man, that is going to be a great match. Come on you reds!

The individual comparison is irrelevant IMO. It's how those individuals shape together as a team. At the moment Manure play as a team whereas we seem to be afraid to trust eachother. On form we should get smacked but this is a one off match where passion runs deep. Time for Gerrard to take the bull by the horns and run the show as he has been well below his best this season (as have most of our players).

                  Fairy muff

It was only a rhetorical question as the fat piemonster will never see sense anyway.

I completely agree, however I think that it probably is confidence building to do a one on one comparison. I think if you took all players on top of their game we would edge it. As we have played poorly this season it would be a great time to put together our first completely cohesive 90 mins of the season as we still have the same XI we had last season and completely dominated in games against them and I don't think Carrick improves them so much as to mean we can't do it again this season.

On a different note, although Ferdinand is a top class defender I would suspect he might take longer than anyone else to adapt to the zonal marking system. He seems like one of the least tactically aware players to me - although his natural talent seems to counteract this most of the time.

Thank you, finaly some sense from someone, of course it's irrelevant because on current form Man U would take us, the point is if we were both on top form then I think our team would take them.

You mean, Finally someone who agrees with you.

So your point is that if we play at our top form and they do the same we'll beat them...

So what's with all the swopping of players about then ?

I think ronaldo/Giggs and Neville would improve our starting line up.

bloody hell lad, it's pretty hard to get through to you isn't it. I'm saying that I feel on form we're stronger or equal to the mancs in 9 out of 11 positions, not everyone will agree with that, but that's what I think. The point I was making for the third time, is that if they are a supposedly stronger team given their position in the table, there's actually only 2 players I'd take from them to put in our first team, in Rooney and Giggs. It wasn't about swapping players around, it was about comparing the strengths of each of the teams.

                              VDS over Reina
                              Neville over Finnan
                              Rio over Carra
                              Vidic over Hyppia
                              Evra over Riise
                              Ronaldo over Gerrard
                              Scholes over Alonso
                              Carrick over Sissoko
                              Giggs over Gonzalez
                              Saha over Crouch
                              Rooney over Kuyt

Sorry fellas and i could do the same with Chelski too

Hmm, bit of an old thread and was based on the form of the 21st october, not after a 3-0 humping by Arsenal
