Should we sell Gerrard, Torres and Masher for a new beginning?

Ive just been watching sunday supplement on sky plus from this sunday and all of the journos reckoned we were on a slow but definite decent into anonymity.

They all seemed to suggest that the owners would not put any money in and that they would struggle to raise any finance to take the club forward which would see us fall apart.

One of them raised the possibility that if we sold masher (who apparently wants to leave anyway) gerrard and torres the club could be £150m better off - but the heart of the team would be ripped out.

We desperately need a cash injection to keep up with spurs, villa and city so should we look to sell all three players and hand the money to rafa or do we stick with what we have and see where we are in 5 years time?

Personally, i can see the economic argument but seeing gerrard play for another club like man city or chelsea may well be the last straw for me.

What these ******s/journo's haven't yet realised is that if we were to sell those 3 for £150m, all that money would not used for purchasing new players. The American's would somehow justify using there new trading vehicle/puppet (Purslow) how the majority of the money went missing.

    Well Done Moores/Parry.

No, we shouldn't. Why on earth would we sell a young world class player in Torres that could be the backbone of this club for years to come.

Without players like these, other great players wont entertain joining us, it's easy to say oh go get Aguero or any top rated player with the cash from selling them, but with Torres and Gerrard gone, Masher too, why would Aguero or any top rated player choose us over Chelsea, or any other rich side that can afford them...and more like them, it would imo be the same story with many of the worlds most coveted players, they would look at us without Torres, Gerrard and Masher, and think...no, i'll take the chav offer.

We do our utmost to keep the best of what we have imo.

If Masher desperately want's to leave, then leave he must, but Gerrard, getting on or not, should imo see his career out with this club.

Either way, we don't push them out the door for cash like those journalists were intimating we should.

If you're talking hypothetically, then maybe we could be better off. I'm not a big fan of Mascherano and I can't wait for the day get rid of him. I believe that Lucas is far more effective in the Masch role when Masch isn't in the team. I've heard that Javi Martinez is supposed to be pretty good (we were linked with him in the summer) midfielder. I'd love to have Yaya Toure though.

Other's on the list would include:

          Arda Turan
          Elia Aljero

          A new centre back
          A new striker

I'm sure we could sign 6/7 top players in well under £100m.

You see, imo we could do with spending 100mill now on top of this squad to be able to consistently challenge for the title in the forthcoming years, so i don't see that spending that, having taken away Torres, Masher and Gerrard would see any great improvement.

Rafa would not get £150 mill to spend and we should never get rid of our best players.

              Crazy suggestion...

                Torres? Not a ****ing chance.
Stevie? Would hurt, like a ****ing psycho bitch with a knife fetish, but if we get a silly price it's a very hard decision. He's knocking on a bit now anyway, he'll be 30 next summer, and will soon be slowly enterring his decline. And I think we're already starting to see signs with niggling injuries. I think we can expect to have him out for part of every season from here on in. We'd be weaker without him no doubt, but we could build for the future.
Mascher? Always rated him very highly, but his attitude seems to stink of late. If he's so desperate to go let him just be mercenaries and hold out for teh right price, make sure it's notr cheap.

So as to the initial question, no, not a chance, selling Torres would be extroadinarily stupid.

Not only is he the best in the world, he's young and as a long career ahead of him with us.

Selling Torres WOULD be the terminal decline of LFC.

I even think selling Gerarrd would be like selling a piece of our heart that would be hard to recover, he's more than just another player, but he pragmatist in me sees there can be arguments for.

Selling Mascher would be like selling out a Quisling. **** him. I've defended him for a long time, but if he was innocent he'd have told his agent to shut the **** up long before now.

That would be good enough for me, build our team around him.

it would make sense if we were playing fantasy football and all the targets you went for you bought

                    yaya toure 20 million
                    Phillip lahm 15 million
                    david Villa 35 million
                    turan 15million
                    pandev free
                    ribery 45million
                    lennon 15million

then maybe i would say we would be better off.....

This is mental. In what bizzaro world is Lucas more effective than Mascherano at anything other than tripping over air.

Why you ****ers hating on javier mascherano?
We should never sell any of those 3.
if money never comes for us to buy players over the
Next few years, then hopefully rafa and kenny work on bringing in young talent
Both from liverpool/britain and abroad.players who can be as good,if not better than those
                        That are at arsenal.

I'm with Saj on Mascherano, I can see Lucas replacing him effectively, Mascher is better in the tackle but Lucas is a similar passer and a very good tackler plus he can get into the box and is more compose - better value for money.
                          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I think it's called "kick them while they're down"

These so called experts will jump on any bandwagon

OK we're having a bad run so far this season but to suggest we're heading for anonimity is sheer tabloid ****e

Take Torres or Gerrard for that matter, when they score those same journo's start telling us how wonderful they are and how world class they are but when they have a poor game they tell us "Torres wants to leave , Man city are about to sign him, Gerrard wants to play elsewhere as he knows he cant win at Liverpool"

                              Cheap tabloid crap.

Makes me sick and Sky are the worst at it.

Also when Rafa turns it around (and that he'll certaily do) and we have a run of decent results those tossers will be telling us they knew all along Rafa would get it right.
