    Would you prefer...

...to finish fourth and not lift anything.

Or to finish 5th and win the FA Cup and Europa League ?

Personally I would take the trophies. It has been far too long since we picked up some silverware and I fancy trips to Hamburg and Wembley.

I would prefer if people stopped pissing me off with these type of threads.

We are all feeling good right now, things are going ok at our club for now, stop these threads.

We will finish 4th or above and we will win trophies,Liverpool FC is all about winning.

4th and one of the FA or europa league would do just fine

we have to get 4th because of the financial income, and for the long term stability of the club.

heard dion dublin comment on this predicament for villa last night. would he as a player rather finish 4th and get champs league football or finish outside top 4 but walk away with carling cup glory......and he chose cup glory. interesting that as me personally i'd rather play champs league football against worlds best rather than look back a career and see diddy cup winners medal.

as a club, we NEED top 4 and that should be all we think about.......but as for the players we have at club i wonder how many of them think "ooohhhh a medal would be nice" and rather win that than go for top 4.

Yep, these threads are utterly pointless.

Lets just **** Reading out of the FA Cup and give Spurs a good doing over in the league.

It's a perfectly good question. Realistically, we don't have the squad to compete on all fronts so I would prefer 4th spot and Champions League football as in the long term it'll be better for the club.

4th, over any egotistical feelings, like the one AnfieldArse is harbouring, just because he fancies a 'nice trip' somewhere.

it depends whether we can get a lot of investment. If our financial future was secured without Champions League income then it would be the trophies every time. Getting 4th would cause me to be relieved, winning trophies gets me delirious. Unfortunately I cannot see a sugar daddy (or daddies) coming in to rescue us in a time of qualification failure. Its an unfortunate reality of football today, yesterdays trophies are todays 4th place. Its crap really

4th of course. We can't afford to slip out of the top 4 and become a Europa league team. That would be the start of a serious decline. 4th place and a trophy should be realistic possibility

yeah but despite our financial restraints, we've been able to attract players such as torres, reina, masch and johnson because of promise of champions league football, and we need those sort of players, not some overpayed primadonas, who only look for getting a big salary, and give **** all in return. we need players with hunger and desire (and some skill preferably )

Finishing 4th, along with a good FA Cup run and winning the Europa League is what we should be looking at.

Given that to go into next season with any sort of decent financial position we need to progress in the Europa doodad and get 4th I'm not sure that there is any way that we will be prioritising one set of objectives against the others.

In general I'm all about the glory - winning things should come first and I certainly don't understand supporters of teams at the bottom of the table who would rather survive for another season getting beaten in the PL rather than trying to win a cup. That said I think long term our chances of winning competitions on a regular basis rest on us getting into the CL next season so that we can kick on from what I feel is a transnational season.

It depends on the perspective you take.

Dion Dublin was asked as a player what he would take. If I was a player I wouldnt want to end my career or a season and say well I got to 4th quite often. I would want to show something for my efforts. As a fan it's different we also want the glory but we want our team to be in the best competitions, personally I don't think it's an either/ or question so would take both.

As a business it's champions league qualification every time.
