I think he will if played regularly in a team where he doesn't have so much defensive responsibility (although i'm not sure there are many of those sort of teams out there - even barca work their absolute bollix off defensively).

I reckon he could make it Italy, the slower pace of the game would suit him better. It's a shame that he hasn't been consistent here as he has shown good stuff at times.

Partnered up front with Torres in a 4-4-2 could be effective. He's never really been given the role of his preferred position upfront.

Rafa uses him as a wideman despite the inability to deliver regular crosses or get into the right areas.

I don't think he's suited to the English game at a high level, I think he could possibly do well in a midtable club in the Premiership where expectations aren't so high. Alternatively I think he could be a good player in some other leagues

All i see with Babel, still!!!, is a lack of effort, a lack of running, a lack of really really putting it in for the team, i still think that if he got that sorted he could add something, and he'd get more chances too if he showed some willing to work, and not just wait for the ball to find him, run lad run, get into situations then your talent will take over...instinct, but he's not making enough effort imo to get himself into games once out on the park, ffs he should have a point to prove.

It'll pass him by all to quickly if he doesn't take his game/football career by the scruff.

Well judging by the wages he's on he's already 'made it', he's a millionaire international footbller. However if you mean will he ever be a superstar player then no because he doesn't have the mentality. He will stutter along putting in the odd decent performance for some other team and will always be a squad player never a star

totally agree, his overall success has more to do with his attitude. There is little doubt that somewhere within there is a bit of talent. But his mindset is just wrong.

I seem to remember at the time Pako having reservations about this signing, namely due to his work ethic and mentality. I think this was one of the things Rafa and Pako fell out about if memory serves?
