I think Maxi Rodrigez will be eased in, hence Degen on the right side of midfield, Riera I doubt will be fit, I think given the current run of form we'll go for a solid hard working formation hence Lucas and Mascherano. I think Kyriakos will play to try and counter the potential aerial threat of Crouch.
6 defenders again then? (in a home game)

      I think we'll go with:

      Reina
      Carragher Skrtel Kyriakos Insua
      Maxi Mascherano Lucas Aurelio
      Aquilani
      Kuyt

      I HOPE we go with:

      Reina
      Carragher Skrtel Kyriakos Insua
      Mascherano Lucas Aquilani
      Maxi N'Gog Kuyt

Which could just as easily be 4-5-1 whilst defending

More so if Kuyt is centre forward, and Babel plays on the left side of a front 3. If he's not gonna sell him, I'd like to see him there
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

I'm all for the war-like atmosphere but it will need a suitable response by the team or it'll die on its arse.

I hope Aurelio goes to full back along with Degen (can't quite believe I'm saying that) so we can get Carragher and Agger back in the middle.

Maxi up front with Aquilani behind him, Kuyt and Babel terrorising from the wings....

I honestly never thought i'd say this - but i can equally honestly say i'm delighted to be saying it now:

I'm relieved that Lucas is available.

No big deal in saying that as he's been one of our best players this season and one of few that actually looks like he cares.

I'm hoping Aquilani will produce a big performance, none of this he's settling in, not long back from a long-term imjury bollocks. He's surely fully fit now, there can no excuses really.
We paid £20 million for him, we're without some key players, confidence is awfully low so we need this chap to pay back Rafa when he needs it most.

I'd go with this line up

              ---------------------- Pepe ------------------

              ---- Carragher -------- Skrtel --- Greek ------- Aurelio

              --------- Lucas ---- Mascherano --- Aquilani ------

              Babel ----------------------------------------- Kuyt

              --------------------- N'gog -----------------------

I think that's the best we can do with what's available.

Unfortunately i'm expecting Rafa to start Insua and leave Babel at home(or in the studio)

Babel is gone. I hope so anyway, useless lazy ****er. Stick any one of the countless reserve players in his place and we're a stronger team.

What's the story with El Zhar? Thought he would have featured at Stoke.

                    Sorry mate, but that's wrong.

He's been out for close to a year - do you know how massive a period of time that is to be out of the game? It's hard enough to come back from that, let alone in a much quicker and more physical league.

We'll see the best of him next season IMO.

Fair enough, i realise we'll not see the best him until next season(most likely)
Even still i think it's fair enough to expect to see some of his ability and what he can offer the team.

Oh yeah, as he gets more adjusted, we should start to see bits and pieces - there's been a couple of moments already, but it'll come with time.

Once he's had a full preseason under his belt, i think he'll be fine.

But Babel being out of contention on the wing means Insua is more likely to play, if you get what I mean. I want Aurelio at left back where he's best.

                          Injured I think.

It's not the team I want us to go with, but the team I think we're likely to go with, I'd prefer to see:

                            Reina
                            Degen Carragher Agger Aurelio
                            Maxi Mascherano Aquilani Riera
                            Kuyt Ngog

                            Or

                            Reina
                            Degen Carragher Agger Aurelio
                            Maxi Mascherano Lucas Riera
                            Aquilani
                            Ngog

But as I said I don't see Riera being fit enough to start, I see Maxi Rodriguez being brought in slowly, there could be doubts over Agger. Babel is really out of favour and to be honest I'd be suprised if he made the bench.

The second team is also unlikely because it has no Kuyt, if we go one up front I would prefer the lone striker to be Ngog than Kuyt, (although I don't think Rafa will see it that way). I know Ngog was poor at the weekend, but Kuyt really isn't suited to playing the lonestriker role
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Hope we'll see 4-4-2 myself, I don't think we can play 4-2-3-1 without both Gerrard and Torres not to mention Benayoun. Maybe play Lucas instead of Aquilani though add more steel to the midfield.
