I thought suspensions don't take effect for 6 or 7 days? No?

Btw there is no way that Riera will start. He's not played for a long time he will need to be eased back in so I fear it will be Aurelio at left mid again

I just hope we start the game at a very high tempo and put it to bed before half-time, like we should have done against the gunners.

I would start with Riera and see how he gets on for the first half. Hopefully we would be able to bring him off not too long after if we get a couple of early goals.

Our RB slot is a real worry TBH, and I think Spurs may switch Lennon onto that flank if Degen plays. So, I would be go with Carra at RB - even though he might not like playing RB he is the best man for the job right now. Sure Carra hates pace and Lennon obviously has that, but I would rather see Lennon taking on Carra than Degen.

Lennon is injured so we don't have to worry about that.

The concern is who is going to score goals for us? Ngog has a good record at Anfield this season but who knows if he will even play as he had a bad game on saturday. We can't play at a high tempo because we have no pace in the team right now

Can't play Dirk up front by himself, surely ?

And I agree with a poster above, no way Rafa will just chuck Riera in there from the start.

What other choice do we have? Ngog? If it's a choice between those two, I'd go with Dirk at present.

              I know...I know.

As for Riera...Rafa's chucked him in before. I know it's unlikely but it's how I'd go. Aurelio at left-mid won't work against Spurs.

It's tricky I guess. Neither are ideal.

But Dirk up front by himself never has worked and never will work. I don't think I've ever really got over Rafa's decision to play Dirk up front by himself against Milan in Athens.

Never know, maybe we'll sign Jones tomorrow and Rafa can just throw him straight in.

If Lucas is not suspended then it will be 4-5-1 with Aqualani in the hole but if he is indeed suspended then it will be 4-4-2

We all know Kuyt can't play the lone striker role because he has no pace and movement so lets hope Rafa doesn't do that again

Play the same team which played Stoke.

Totally agree but the alternative is a naive Ngog, who did worse on Saturday than Dirk has ever done in that role. I can't believe I'm saying this cos on many on occasion I've said I never want to see Kuyt in that role again, but needs must.

                      Lucas is not suspended.

Are you mental? We barely managed 1 shot all game. We need Aqualani and Maxi to start if we are to have any chance of creating chances

Why not Kuyt with Maxi alongside him? Ngog to come off the bench when their defence is tiring.

Just looked here and doesn't look like he is (suprisingly few players suspended).

Could of swore I heard the commentator on Saturday say the yellow meant he picked up a suspension.
Commentators are morons and have forgotten that the yellow card amnesty was bought forward this season.

                                I see us going:

                                Reina
                                Carragher Skrtel Kyriakos Insua
                                Degen Mascherano Lucas Aurelio
                                Aquilani
                                Kuyt

I think Maxi Rodrigez will be eased in, hence Degen on the right side of midfield, Riera I doubt will be fit, I think given the current run of form we'll go for a solid hard working formation hence Lucas and Mascherano. I think Kyriakos will play to try and counter the potential aerial threat of Crouch.
