if i had to choose between mascherano and lucas i'd pick lucas cos at the moment because he's calmer and when he wins the ball he doesn't immediately give it away again. world class defensive midfielder seems to be a new unproven concept we've all bought into as world class DM rarely equates to world class midfielder. who are the good ones? didi for us - far superior to mascherano as a midfielder. alonso - became one and still was a fantastic midfielder. makalele for chelsea but essien is a huge improvement on him.Felching ≠ Gerbilling

Are you ****ing kidding me?Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWhy is it 'prejudices' ? Why would anyone HAVE prejudices? That's surreal.
Maybe people just dont think Lucas is anything special.
Is that viewpoint not allowed?
The prejudices on here are ridiculous, it is a damning indictment to how thick the human race is when you see some the stupid **** written about Lucas on here, even when he has played well.

I still dont see why people would choose to hold prejudices. Are they anti Brazilian?Originally posted by Mattshark View PostAre you ****ing kidding me?

Do you think people's viewpoints on players are not based on how the player plays most of the time?
Lucas was largely ineffective and anonymous before this season, which has seen him put in a few excellent displays.
Needs to be done over a sustained period of time (and also when the whole team is performing well, too) before it proves a great deal.
I still dont get why people would choose to hold 'prejudices' against one of their own players. If you can answer that, then maybe i'll see these alleged prejudices.

Because people make their mind up about a player and refuse to alter it or refuse to give them a chance.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI still dont see why people would choose to hold prejudices. Are they anti Brazilian?

I dont think that applies to the majority. A few can be like that, but not most.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostBecause people make their mind up about a player and refuse to alter it or refuse to give them a chance.
It's not as if Lucas has turned in consistently brilliant performances to change people's views though, either.
He's generally been good this season. Not excellent, not brilliant and crucially, not at the level required for a title challenging side.
I dont hold it against him personally though. By the same token, if Shaggy got a contract with us and didnt produce the necessary quality, i wouldnt hold it against HIM either, if he just didnt happen to be good enough. It's not the player's fault.

He has, he has been the only outfield player consistently at that level. That is a nonsense.

Lucas has been our only outfield player to play at a constantly high level this season. He is the only to play at a top level with consistency.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWell, each to their own. I think it's a minority, but ok.

Or a consistently high level, compared to the rest of them?
I certainly dont think it's the former.

I do, if the rest of the team had performed as well. His role is not one where you can carry the team from.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostA consistently high level, in context of the levels required for a title challenge?
