with Aquilani playing behind Ngog and then swapping roles in the second half.
And Babel should have started the second half in place of Ngog.

Have nothing addtional to add really - ok first half, improved in the second. Aquilani was absolute gash though, save the header back to Kuyt.

How on earth can you say Riera does a better job in attacking, than Ronaldo??? I'll maybe give you defending, and positioning is a bit of an anomoly. But attacking?? Fecking hell mate. Ronaldo's one of the best in the world at scoring and making goals. If you have another idea of what someone should do when 'attacking', i'd like to hear it

I don't know, doesn't he play a similar position to Messi? IMO Messi is improving stil and is scoring buckloads right now.

Good to hear some positive comments on the likes of Kuyt and Insua who have come in for a fair amount of stick recently.

Disappointing to read some of the garbage thrown around when N'Gog missed that chance. Although I've come to expect nothing better in these match threads

Haven’t read the match thread, but the abuse N’Gog got most of the match (as well as the usual suspects) in the bar where I watched it was shocking. His miss was greeted with “**** off Rafa…”.

As for Aquilani, I really don't think we're going to see a great deal from him until next season. I just hope he stays fit and uses the next few months to really feel his way into the English game. On the evidence of today, and the last month or so, I have to say I'd be playing Lucas instead right now in the big games. I thought he had a really good cameo, and the moaning at the substitution in the match thread turned out to be rather off the mark.

Totally agree. Thought we looked a much better team once Lucas came on and completely controlled the tempo of the game. Aquilani shouldn’t be rushed back too soon, and will be surprised if he starts next Saturday.

Again, like my point above, the outrage in the bar when Lucas came on was embarrassing. Where do these people come from? They shout constant abuse at all the usual targets, coming across as the most passionate supporters in the world, yet miss most of the match laughing and joking amongst themselves or on their mobile phones.

Would need to watch the game again to be completely sure, but I thought Kuyt and Gerrard were swapping positions during the match and it worked very well with both of them putting in good performances. I’m not sure what playing him in the middle first half would have achieved.

I was getting worried when I started reading this thread that I'd gone to the wrong game. I was sitting in the main stand and though that Ngog had a decent game. His first touch and control was excellent. He received a couple of long balls during the game when he was up against 3 defenders with no red shirts in sight, and held the ball up well.

I too thought he was decent, he's played better but i thought he offered us pace and power up top. He may have missed a sitter but show me a striker who hasn't. I've said it before but i think he could turn into a great player for us.

Any "fan" giving N'gog abuse is a total ****ing cunt.

He's one player in a Red shirt that can be proud of himself this season, never hides even after missing a sitter or two, he's always available for the ball and a willing runner, he's also popped up with a few vital goals this season.

I've totally changed my opinion of him, in his first few games for us i was far from impressed, never thought he'd make it but i'm now a big fan and if he continues to improve then he has a big future.
