I think you started on here with a moniker under your name, "I'm 19" or something of the same ilk.

Can somone tell me how many assists and goals has he racked up in his 18 months at Liverpool?

He's distinctly average and always be, plus he's as bad as Harry Kewell on the injury front.
        27. The same number of times you get called a cunt on a saturday night.

              More than you did....

Just kidding mate. I see where you're coming from and kind of agree. The key thing with Riera is that he add's balance and Insua benefits more when Riera plays than when Benayoun plays on the left. He also gets exposed less. So Riera, individually does not provide a great deal but him playing benefits the team more. And he can chip with in with the odd goal and has a pretty mean cross on him from corners and when he's on the right and puts in an inswinger. Don't forget, it was his cross/pass that led to the goal on Saturday (albeit via Insua and Aqulani)

I don't think you can solely measure someones impact on the team in terms of number of goals and assists, I though the Alonso situation had demonstrated that.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

We are just, invariably, a better side when Riera's in it. You'd have to be blind not to see that.

Yeah i know what you're saying.

I dont mean Riera is completely ****e but i really think we need better...

Ideally we should look to bring in a top quality left sided player and keep Riera as a squaddie
(not sure he'll be happy with that mind).

Left wingers are a dying bread though, gutted that we didn't go for Adam Johnson

the transfer window is closed. We have a player back from injury that adds balance to the team. Life is good no?

The problem Marky is that it just doesn't make sense posting so vicously against him and the likes of Gerrard because what can we do, especially with the financial constraints on the club. If you take Riera out, who else do we have who is better? If we take Gerrard out, who do we have who is better? And who else can we sign given our budget mid season who is better than Riera? I think realistically Turan and at a push Mata are players we may be able to afford.

But for now, I would much rather see Riera on the left than Benayoun. And I too do agree he's average but he's steady and gives us the balance we've missed all season. With him in our team, it feels when watching the game that the players know what to do on the pitch - they seem to have more direction

There's 3 left wingers in the Premiership that are better that Riera.

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

not riera's biggest fan but he does give us a much better balance when he plays left side. trouble is i'd still rather see a team sheet with benni on it than riera as i beleive he will create more for us. again trouble being that insua is woefull and needs support in defense every game. more trouble being that riera is our only out and out left "winger" and thats what we are crying out for.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

i think we have played better in recent weeks with riera in the team because the rest of the team have been so ****e as well..... and we have been shafted by injuries.....

if gerrard, kuyt, maxi, beni were all fit and on form, then would riera be a starter???? im not so sure.... personally, i'd prefer beni on the left, gerrard through the middle, and either maxi or kuyt on the right.... (i'd actually prefer gerrard to play in midfield and play dirk up front with torres but in rafa's 4-2-3-1 formation i am talking about)

at the end of the day, a fully fit riera is a very handy player to have in the squad.....

that said, if we could get our 8m back for him, i reckon rafa would take it and chance his arm with another player.....
