2 are good players, though they didn't work out for us, one we got him for a specific purpose in arranging our defence, one was bad.

So no, the world is not simply black and white as you insinuate.

Of course you're right, end of the day none were good enough. But its a pretty thin and pointless argument. In fact what is your point? I reckon if you totted all the signings each manager made, using an average per season basis, it would be no argument.

Morientes - Everybody was delighted when we got him. He was incredibly well rated and looked to be a great fit both for this league and for Rafa. Some players just do not work in this league though, I don't recall anyone suggesting that to be the case before we got him
Gonzalez - Fair cop. But he was cheap, and we made a profit. I think
Josemi - As above
Pellegrino - He was a FREE signing. And now he's on the coaching staff. Hardly a failure

not sure the reality is that some people love and some hate. i would think most liked him but have different feelings about him going. however when it goes from disscussion to debate to argument it sort of ends up polarised.

the rest wherent good enough at all. i would say that benitez has a better hit ratio of players and probably spent less on average every year.

i liked houllier as a man but he didnt leave a great team. look at the players who left they didnt go on to do alot did they?

i was going to put jari. i thought it went well with sami and didi.

however he hasnt done much since leaving us i dont think and as much as i thought he should have been played lots more maybe he was on the decline at that point.

Whichever manager comes in, is coming into a miles better squad than when Rafa came in.

That squad that houiller left was pretty awful and we all knew it.....this time its different, we have had a ****e season but the team is excellent and the squad just needs some beefing up and the youth loooks very promising

If it wasnt for those 2 cunts i would have genuine sense of optimism
