Rafa is on £5million a year over 4 years and people seem to forget we are SKINT. He cant be sacked and shouldnt be.

All this talk of Jose is really making me puke! I dont want a man who licks the ass of the British Media being manager of Liverpool Football Club. When Benitez says something "controversial" its becouse hes angry. Yet when Mourinho says something "controversial" hes bein funny **** the British media.

Secondly, if you think Rafa on £5million a year is alot then consider this, Jose Mourinho is on £9million a year. Double of what Benitez is on basically. WE ARE SKINT.

Oh and one more thing, **** Off Mourinho!

I read the first page of this post, but why sack Rafa?

In 90 minutes, the team could not muster 1 shot on target - with Gerrard & ~Torres in the side, how is it all down to him?

People say you play 4-5-1. Fair enough, but in our first eleven, 3 of the world's best ten play. Our team (away), our squad (as a whole) doesn't step up to the mark - Chelsea lost there 3-1, should Ancelotti be sacked?

We will never win the league under Rafa. I love the man, but bar three months last year, the football has been dross and when we go on a bad run he seem clueless about how to end it. When is the last time you saw Chelsea or manu have a slump? It just doesn't happen with the best managers. I think he has had time and money and those three months when we dared to dream are long gone. It was a blip, I'm afraid.

Mourinho is the best manager going around, they deluded fools saying they don't want him purely because of his few (very successful) years at Chelsea are cutting their nose off to spite their face.

The only one that gets close to him is Guardiola, and he's a gypo through and through. He wouldn't walk away from his Barca team. No way.

Another option is Blanc at Bordeaux. He has them playing brilliant football.

I am not sure about Rafa, one moment I want him, one moment I dont. What's Toshack up to these days? How old is he and has he got any current form?
"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

bringing in roy hodgeson is the easiest way to change up the squad.

sure, we'd still be stuck with johnson, insua, lucas and kuyt, but on the other hand, we'd be looking at a fresh cast of characters featuring such fresh names as towwes, gewwawd, cawwaghew and kywwiakos.

Let's hope he sells Gerrard before Torres. Gerrard was woeful last night and caused the whole team to be nervous. I'd bite the hand off anyone offering £40m

It is interesting to see, how all these fancyful names are thrown into the ring, completely ignoring any managers from Germany (and I do not include Klinsmann in that category).

Has anyone ever considered Felix Magath, who not only won the German championship and cup twice with Bayern, but took a middle class team, Wolfsburg, to collect the title last season. This season he managed to form a reliable team in Schalke who are in second position as we speak.

This may not have the glamour some other suggestions here have, but Magath has a CV well worth reading.

Blanc is an interesting shout, as is Guardiola.

I think if we don't get 4th, Rafa will leave, whether sacked or resignation.
I'm really unsure about this, this year has been a shocker but Rafa has raised our expectations so much that I don't like the thought of us binning him.

If he goes, I don't want to see Mourinho anywhere near our club. Yes he's a winner, but he's also a classless arrogant ****.
I'd really like to see Roy Hodgson given the chance, I've always liked the way he goes about things. Very knowledgable and plays good football.
Hiddink is a good shout too.
Capello might be available after the summer!

It's the wrong time to think about appointing a new manager, Rafa's guaranteed top four so let's see what happens between now and the end of the season. If he fails his objective I'd expect him to do the decent thing. He knows what's expected of him - though I feel really sorry for Rafa trying to compete against clubs with seemingly infinite wealth. Our finances are truly ****ed when the likes of Tottenham can afford to buy players as cover for cover and we can't afford to buy a bloody striker.
