Shanks was also quite arrogant in a way as per some of his of his famous comments, for instance his quote when he said "During my time at Liverpool we had the 2 best teams in Merseyside, Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves". Not that I give a **** as it was funny but you could say that Mourinho does have some similar traits.Originally posted by Reece View PostI don't. And Shankly had class, Mourinho has none whatsoever.

Many say that Rafa has class, yes he does but the comment he said about Everton being a small club you could quite easily say that was classless and disrepectful too which it was, it's a similar comment to what Shanks said.
Call it confidence or arrogance no matter whether people say Mourinho is classless both he and Shanks do have similar traits, no doubt about it.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

Either way we need someone who can take control of this squad and put the right mentality into it. I fear rafa is holding back players and limiting their creativity. We need a manager that sets a team up to win the game rather than trying not to lose it.Last edited by Leyton388; 21-03-10, 05:30 PM.

Found this on TLW and its makes a good point.
Rafa had loads of options in the summer. After selling some players, he had £40M to spend. At that point he knew that Torres was the only main striker he had available and he made the decision to take a risk in buying Johnson and Aquilani.
He didn't have to do it, it wasn't forced upon him and it's wrong to suggest that it was due to the situation rather than by poor decisions.
And that's totally ignoring the Robbie Keane thing as well.

if gerrard and nando are the front two, what are the chances of BOTH of them being out/**** form for so long? those two backed up by kuyt, babel and ngog should have been enough.
johnson was the right signing. aquilani its too soon to tell frankly

rafa's made some huge mistakes in the transfer market.
keane, babel, aquilani, Johnson, kuyt, jermaine pennant.
Aquilani is another robbie keane waiting to happen and no-one should be surprised when we lose £5m on him.
Before rafa joined us one spanish pundit said that rafa was very good a lot of things but buying players wasnt his forte. That said, reina, agger, torres, masher, benayoun, alonso and arbeloa were all exceptional buys but his recent record has been poor.
The financial constrains might have meant that he has had to take more risks on certain players like riera.
However, that doesnt explain his continued support of some of the weaker players in the squad like kuyt, lucas and insua.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

ok if a player like crouch isnt prepared to play backup to torres, who exactly do you think ill be? i'd say one of kuyt, ngog and babel are about rightOriginally posted by Shanks View PostIt still doesn't alter the fact that Rafa did not buy a back up for Torres.
Ngog is not experienced enough to the lead the line.
Gerrard is probably a better striker than Keane in that same position anyway.
i'd love david villa at the club but if its not for the money, its the fact that he's nobody's backup. we'd have to lose gerrard

Nice guys finish last mate, i've had enough of being 'nice and classy' and losing out all the time. Maybe this is fuelled from the **** we had from those cunts today, from their cuntish banners and their 'waiting around outside OT afterwards to gloat' even though we were kept in for 45 minutes - where were they last season? Cunts.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostOh aye yeah, like running a referee into retirement and hiding. Classy stuff. Classy guy.
I dont care who, i dont care how - i just want to stop them cunts. We've done the gracious losers thing for far too long now.
