"Liverpool Football Club is on a long-term journey and that journey is to be the most successful club, firstly in our country and secondly in the world, and you don't do that by worrying about short-term results. You do that by having long-term plans centring on the people and the strategy. Rafa Benítez is absolutely central to that plan.

Well at least you are getting nearer Gillett & Hicks' ideas for finding a manaer that fits our budgetOriginally posted by onceared View PostWith every passing bull**** performance my standards of replacement are plumeting. I'm down to Tony Pulis now. This time next week after we bomb out of the second best club competition in Europe I'm moving down to lawrie sanchez.

You know what i am soooooooooo fed up with the some of the senior members of this site slagging Rafa at every opportunity.
Lets get this straight ALL the top 4 teams are having a bad season by their standards just look at the table it does not lie.
Every team is losing too many games, freak results abound.
There is definitely something wrong but it is too simplistic to blame Rafa alone too easy.
The reason it looks so bad for us is our lack of strength in depth of our squad.
As far as i know since Rafa has been here he has had the worst funds/board/chief exec and the weakest squad to begin with.
If he doesn't have to sell to buy can you imagine what kind of squad we would have [Ronaldo,Vidic,Silva, Barry,Malouda, Ramsey,Tevez,Simao etc]
I don't go on many other forums but i bet most of the fans of the scum ,the arse and the chavs are not continually slagging their manager.
Everybody who is a fan of this team is upset with this season and our board who are making things even harder for us and the playing staff but if our players are uninspired and lacking heart then here's my advice SING F****** LOUDER.

, I would suggest that Chelsea aren't losing too many games, as they are on the verge of winning the league. Yes, if we didn't have to worry about money we'd have a great squad full of world class players, but that is not the benchmark that I am judging Rafa by. The current squad is underperforming.
Best not sing as I am in the office.

Sounds ****.Originally posted by anfieldanfield View PostI think the vast majority of Liverpool fans are all pretty much on the same page now.
Mourinho in an ideal world.
If he doesn't want to come (and I doubt he would) then Roy Hodgson.

BS, there were people calling for Rafa to go cos he didn't win the league last year!Originally posted by red g View PostI actually think we have been more than patient and i also think that if you went onto Arsenal or Scum sites you would hear people calling for the managers heads to. And you are comparing far longer mangerial periods because Rafa and Wenger over the same time period, has Rafa as more successful and completely different financial situations.
