Do people think Roy Hodgson's first choice keeper is Schwarzer, over someone like Buffon or Reina? Would he really choose someone like Danny Murphy over a Messi or Xavi? Course not. But he gets the most out of what he has because he has to, because the world of football doesnt enable anyone to just cherry pick the best players, or justify failure with 'well i couldnt get messi, iniesta, xavi and cristiano ronaldo, so i couldnt finish 4th'.

Nobody's saying rafa's had ideal conditions to work with or that he hasnt been disrupted BUT the key point is, first choice targets or not, he has a squad of players, most of whom are better than their opponents in probably 30 odd league games out of 38. He has a squad which is at least the 4th best in the league, if not 3rd best. Yet we're 7th. This simply isnt good enough, no matter how it may be presented, with 'didnt get first choice targets' based arguments.
      hilarious. fooking hilarious.

who the hell is comparing rafa's situation to hodgson's?

rafa is up against ferguson, wenger (who he has trounced in all of his time here bar this season) and chelski managers. Now its spurs and city in the mix. They are the teams that land their first choice signings. They are the teams that rafa is struggling to overcome and as a consequence you want sacked.

Since when have we been comparable to fulham?

btw i agree with your last point but even then i wouldnt blame it on rafa. his big players have contributed relatively fook all this season with the exception of Reina. injury and form has meant that carra, agger , masher, aquilani, gerrard and torres have all been below their best.

You cant bear to give the bloke any credit can you?
He played Chivu as left midfield. You're right, he's very offensive. No shots on goal for the whole match, Mourihno is a genius.

no shots on target.....1 at goal during match against easily the best attacking team on the plant and with only 10 men. of course he was always going to defend.

but do people want to critisice rafa this season when we play 2 premier league games and have no shots on taregt in either?!!?

i can defend maureen for it but not rafa given the circumstances.

the thing should be how would you feel if that was our manager running on the pitch, taking away the players glory, as he knew the cameras would follow him, and inciting the opposition fans, and being a total egotistic arsehole!

For me i would be embarrassed and angry for the club reputation get sullied by the actions of an attention seeking guy who will think it is all about him and not Liverpool Football Club and us Fans!

Beware what you wish for unless as you say some of you people would deal with the devil for one seasons glory!

I admire Mourinho's achievements, but listening to him on SSN this morning really brought it back to me how much I despise him. It's all about him. I know the interview would have been edited and perhaps he did talk at length about the team performance, but for him to crow about himself and how long he intended to manage etc seemed really inappropriate. He guided his team to the final, well done now shut the **** up.

The reason he does this, (and he said it it himself when he was with the chavs) is to put all the press focus on him, all him and by doing this you never hear anything about the players therefore there is no pressure on his players. the guy is a winner and as craig said if you cant beat them, join them because this is the way football is going and its not going to change. So if we want to be the NICE losers all the time then stick, but if we want to win titles again then TWIST and no manager can do it better than jose, imo of course.

Why does he do it after the game then?

I'm sure it is nothing to do with the fact that he is an egomaniac who thrives being in the limelight.

Because its the best possible time to do it.

That makes no sense whatsoever. If he wants to deflect media attention from his players then surely he would do that before the game so that they can concentrate on playing football? I could see logic in that.
