Answer to the question "IF Rafa leaves, Who should be our new manager?"

Dont freaking care. Apathy has set in and I have never felt so low about football until now.

Unless something happens on the owners front, look like we are going to either balance the books or make profits on the player front. We missed the boat in the 90's to capitalize on the influx of sky money in the PL and we are going to miss the boat again with other clubs making rapid strides financially and on the ownership and stadium front.

Unless we get the second coming of Arsene Wenger, no other manager can be expected to make us compete for trophies and the league. And even if we get such a brilliant young manager I am sure the two idiots will find a way to piss him off. Look at the performance of all the "sports franchises" owned by the two idiots over a period of 8-10 years. Constant and steady degradation of performance, that's one constant.

And the post wouldnt be complete without acknowledging the two other retards responsible for this mess - THANK YOU DAVID MOORES AND RICK PARRY!!!!!!

I agree. Not sure about the Cheryl bit though.

I see some are calling for Hodgson to replace Rafa, I was willing to take a chance on him but am now having second thoughts. He failed with Blackburn and after that I don't see how he has genuinely proved himself to be a top coach. OK, he has had a good spell with Fulham (excellent in Europe) but it will be interesting to see how they will kick on from here, it will be difficult and I would like to see him for one more season with Fulham.
                          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Nail on head mate. Doesn't matter who we get in next, if we can't compete in the transfer market we can't go forward.

Also no doubting Mourinho's talent all his success has been at clubs with a solid base and lots of money. Porto has always been the strongest team in Portugal and the European cup was a good feat but what an awful season season for that comp. Raneri already built a strong team and one more season would have seen him win the league. And Inter have been untouchable since the fixing scandal and now no one can compete with them in the Italian league and that was before Jose took over.

I think the challenge of managing Liverpool in their current state is too much for Jose. He knows he'll have a big job on his hands and that he might be found out here and he wouldn't risk ruining his rep here.

This season has seen most of the top sides doing considerably worse than usual and in our case, it's been emphatically true.
Spurs already have a record points tally for them and Villa and City have both competed for 4th more strongly than in previous seasons. While I agree it has been a weak league in terms of quality the fact the top teams have struggled surely says something about the competitiveness of the league. I think it is perfectly reasonable to draw the comparison I did with Arsenal in previous seasons and conclude that this season has been more difficult to achieve 4th.
