To be fair neil, if we were to all sit there picking points in other people's posts, yours alone would keep me sufficiently busy that i'd not be able to do anything else at all.

Perhaps the 'live and let live' theory would be best used here, second only to the 'if you dont like it, dont read it' notion.

In that case then, I want Mr Burns as our Owner, Smithers as our Chairman and T-Rex as our Manager.

Burns and Smithers are part of PTP's management dream team I think.

I have my reservations about T Rex though. Bolan's too egotistical and loud, always using his guitar riffing to drown out the creative genius of Mickey Finn's bongo playing.

pretty sure i read somewhere that united dont want jose to go to them anyway. something about ( when fergie retires ) wanting a manager who will create another long term dynasty a la moyes for example. it might have been that gill bloke who said senior figures at old trafford see jose as a short term manager and not fitting with their "create an old school family" philospophy.

give him a year at madrid ( which is all anyone gets ) then if rafa ****s up again this coming season we can get jose then

Side issue but Mourinho and Ronaldo don't get on at all. Mourinho called him a gypsy or something derogatory like that IIRC. That will be interesting.

was thinking about the whole rafa cant motivate and maybe he picks his staff based on his ideas and approach to games and could bring in a more motivating character. dunno if that makes sense

Like i'd like to see gary mac in the coaching staff, he'd be a real asset and the players would respond to him.

would love to see that myself. hopefully he could inspire the midfielders we have to play a bit more purposefully and dare i say it, alonso(y).

I think Hiddink or Van Gaal have quality. More so than Hodgeson actually.

I'll be happy with anyone over Avram ****ing Grant. The sooner he gets that West Ham job the better.

Since we are not the best prospect atm, I would be happy enough with Martin O'Neil or Roy Hodgson. I'd be delighted with Louis Van Gaal and I'd be interested in the ideas of Jorge Jesus the Benfica boss.

Any one of those four would have me feeling positive.

I have no faith at all in O'Neill. I think Hodgson could do well but all the people who were unhappy with the style of football under Rafa might be surprised at the general approach that his teams take when watching it every week.

I think Grant is at least pragmatic enough to deal reasonably well with the awful board room situation. He's proven himself a more than decent manager in this league.

There is zero chance of a van Gaal or Hiddink style appointment - we couldn't pay for the wages plus compensation to their employers. Even if we could the lack of transfer funds would scupper the deal.

Pellegrini is free - I'd like him. Proved he can do well with a minimal budget - did well blending new players and big egos at Madrid despite constant whispers about his position.

Know nothing about Jorge Jesus but his Benfica team looked attractive.

When does he have to renew his rolling contract - does anyone know? He would (sadly) be a candidate because of the smaller level of compensation we would have to pay.
