I heard 3 weeks ago a reliable rumour via a family member of one of the backroom staff at Anfield that there have been tensions between the Spanish contingent and others. The person tsaid that most wanted rid of the Spanish group. So wouldn't be surprised to see a few go.

At the same time the person said something was going on as they normally plan several weeks ahead but things had been put on hold. I hoped it meant new owners were on the way but sadly it was Rafa out. Suppose I should have put 2 and 2 together.

Do you mean the coaching staff or the players? as there aren't many (first team) Spanish players left now Only Pepe and Torres and I would have thought they would have been quite popular Riera obviously falls into that catagory (being Spanish and not popular given what happened) but he's supposedly on his way anyway. Who else is there? Pacheco?

Sacking him via the press.

Doing it while he's away on holiday.

Allowing the 'non-executive' chairman to have a significant role in the move.

I hear you brother. I was all for him going but this is a disgraceful way to end a proud and honourable man's reign. I also agree wit the sentiment that the owners needed to go first because with them still here we have nothing but chaos ahead.

Given our finances my money is on some chainsmoking ex-KGB Russian coach. Though it would be class to see that sort of backroom staff on the sideline, all looking over 70, all smoking and all wearing those total cheapass tracksuits with the stitching for CCCP still visible underneath the new "liverpool" iron-on transfer.
