Fangled. You've just made up the word fandangled.

certainly does, Chris. He'd be a hell of a signing! Free after the world cup as well. Can't see it happening, but would be amazing.

If Hiddink is off the market and Lippi can be convinced then that'd be one hell of an appointment. Better than Gollum and all the other domestics mentioned

Well Lippi is a great manager with a great track record, but our football won't be any prettier with him coming in...

I'd be split if he was appointed.

Whoever comes in, I personally am looking forward to seeing a different style of play, seeing different types of player coming in and wondering what the new manager might be able to make of the likes of Lucas, Babel etc. Will they get a new lease of life?
                  Really?

Appoint Ruud Gullit, he makes his teams play 'sexy football'.

Nah, I dont know how true that is. His club sides have played excellent football. He's constrained to playing defensive football while he's coach of Italy. On paper the current Italy side is by far the worst I can remember. You can't polish a turd as the old saying goes...

Biggest problem with Lippi is he's a Juventus hero so it must be very very unlikely he'd come here.

Would be nice but cant see him being willing to taint his legacy.

By that logic, Rafa was a failure.

Gerrard won the CL so his ambitions were in part fulfilled. As for Torres, yes, but he hardly won anything before anyway but his value soared by joining us and by being under Rafa's tutelage. Same could be said of Gerrard.

still the team he won the WC with 4 years ago played anything but attractive football. There is more defensive managers out there for sure, but it will not be more attractive than what we have been used to the last 6 seasons.
