i was going to put jari. i thought it went well with sami and didi.

however he hasnt done much since leaving us i dont think and as much as i thought he should have been played lots more maybe he was on the decline at that point.

He certainly was, Barca and Ajax got his best yesrs, and they were very lucky. A player of real quality. Still, managed so show some flashes of his brilliance with us in the short time he was with us.

at the time i was slating houllier for not playing him however looking back in time maybe he shouldnt.

IF Henchoz hadnt gotten away with the handball in the FA CUP Final V Arsenal how would Houlliers record have looked?

the rest wherent good enough at all. i would say that benitez has a better hit ratio of players and probably spent less on average every year.

i liked houllier as a man but he didnt leave a great team. look at the players who left they didnt go on to do alot did they?

Houllier wasnt perfect but with the players he left Rafa with plus a couple of new faces that team won the CL.

Houllier came within a breadth(in my opinion0 of also winning the CL when we got knocked out by Bayer Leverkisen, and I think Porto won th eleague that year. If we had beaten BL we would have won the tournament. Its all about percentages.

Whichever manager comes in, is coming into a miles better squad than when Rafa came in.

That squad that houiller left was pretty awful and we all knew it.....this time its different

I think you need to remember that Rafa won the CL, pretty much with that squad.

Dudek, Finnan (Hamann 46), Traore, Hyypia, Carragher, Riise, Gerrard, Luis Garcia, Alonso, Kewell (Smicer 23), Baros (Cisse 85).

Subs Not Used: Carson, Josemi, Nunez, Biscan.

I'm pretty pessimistic about the future - getting a good manager, getting rid of the owners etc.

However something I can't fully rationalise is why Dalglish is still on board and apparently actively involved in finding a replacement for Rafa. If things are as bad as I think I really can't understand why Dalglish is prepared to be associated. He's not daft and won't want to be linked with the demise of LFC and he will also know that if he walked / or spoke out against the owners and board it would add enormous pressure making RBS even more edgy.

This makes me think there's obviously more to the situation than I can see.

I wish we'd just ****ing sort it, whoever it's going to be. It astounds me that we've ditched Rafa without having someone else already in place.

this is an interesting poll considering hiddink has pretty much made it known he won't come.

I think most of those votes for Hiddink were cast before his agent ruled him out.
