There's a Fredoni somewhere preparing to start a wankathon over Rafa coming to Inter. The baton has been passed on chap.

Hmmm hadn't really considered Del Bosque. He's won a lot in his time, and you'd assume that the likes of Torres and Reina might be more than happy to be managed by the manager who guided them to the Euros.

      I'm sold. Del Bosque FTW

I'm finding it hard to think of who would be good for us, I'm still sulking that we ditched Rafa who, as others have pointed out, is so **** he will soon be managing the current Italian and Champions League winners. Christ.

Capello would be great, but very much doubt he'd come for various reasons.

Who said Del Bosque? I think that's a great shout, the Spanish influence is strong and we could do without having to rebuild the squad in a couple of seasons.

'Arry brings some pluses but I can't help wanting to punch his stupid twitchy face.

Sven - also brings some plusses but he'd be too busy slipping it to the WAGs to pay attention to the football.

British - Apart from Kenny, I can't think of anyone with enough gravitas.

As for Ian St. John, when he stops spouting xenophobic nonsense, I will begin to listen. Someone isn't **** because they are foreign, John, they are **** because they are ****. Anymore than someone is great because they are British. Sick of hearing this ****, from supposed "legends".

So we're all agreed - it really is a f*cking nightmare.
        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

It was Luis Aragones, not Vicente del Bosque that was in charge when Spain won the Euros. Del Bosque inherited that team. Not a bad shout though. Wouldn't be my first choice though, and it's not just because of his dodgy moustache.

Anyone but a domestic no hoper. Please!

And it would be nice if they actually done something soon, these reports from a few journo's of early july until an appointment are a bit worrying.

This thread is going to be huge before we appoint someone. Can't see it be settled for a good few weeks yet.

Also, whoever we appoint will have been slated by somebody, so plenty of ammo for a future bump.

i'm the oppositie - whilst the lingering and not knowing drags on makes it feel worse - i don't want us to rush into a decision and make an appointment just for the sake of it.

Plus who knows, after the world cup there maybe a shock sacking or a shock resignation that could change everything. - The people like hodgson etc who are being touted round as the next manager at the moment, will still be around to jump at the opportunity be it tomorrow, next week or next month. I'm happy to wait and see a little.

I dont want us to rush but we should have had people in mind already, its pathetic if we wait till july, everyone else is going about their business and then theres us with no manager. Left behind as usual.

The bookies think it's going to be Hodgson and I'd go along with that.

Steady the ship for a couple of years until we can get Mourinho...

                            What a shame

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has declared himself loyal to the club after interest from Liverpool.

Following the departure of Rafa Benitez from Anfield last week, a number of names have been put in the frame for the vacant Reds post, and Sky Sources revealed that Redknapp was the No.1 choice.

The experienced 63-year-old led Spurs to a top-four finish in the Premier League last season, ensuring their qualification for next term's UEFA Champions League.

It was a contrasting season for the Merseyside outfit, however, as they slumped to seventh place and had to settle for a spot in the Europa League.

Redknapp denies that he has been offered the Liverpool job and insists he is only focused on a future at White Hart Lane.

"I am not being presumptuous turning down Liverpool, because I haven't been offered the job and haven't spoken to anyone about it," he told ESPN Soccernet.

"There is no need, as I have one year left on my contract at Tottenham and I am not thinking about anything other than being at White Hart Lane next season.
                            Staying put

"I can tell you that I have not been offered a new contract, but that doesn't mean I am looking to move on - far from it.

"I am loyal to Spurs, I want to stay at Spurs and I have a contract with Spurs, and I'd be happy to sign a new contract at Spurs if I was offered one, but in any case I have one year on my contract."

Redknapp has had previous managerial spells at Bournemouth, West Ham and Southampton, as well as two separate stints at Portsmouth.

He has transformed the fortunes of Tottenham since taking the reins of the club in October 2008, and has been granted a substantial transfer budget.

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish has been tipped to take up an interim post at Anfield, while the search for a new permanent boss continues.

Other names in contention are Fulham's Roy Hodgson, Aston Villa's Martin O'Neill and Dutch tactician Guus Hiddink.
