i said a while ago that i'd like a bilic or someone similar - i just think a young fresh manager might be inspiring.........as pointed out by shaggy's excellent post, all the british managers are ****. - Plus all the good other managers ie a capello, mourinho, lippi, hiidink etc, the ones with the reputations, won't come near us. - it doesn't leave us with much else - someone like a bilic, riijkard or whatever, young builiding a reputation etc might be a gamble but it'd be one i'd like to seei own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Nope, not really. Under Shanks yes but not later. I mean, we did attack but it was far more about possession than 100 mile an hour kick and rush stuff.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostI'm pretty sure a high possession, crushing machine approach was our style back then.
We just used to hold on to the ball for hours at a time. Literally, in Clemence's case..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

That is what I mean, possession, built from solid defence and we ground teams down.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostNope, not really. Under Shanks yes but not later. I mean, we did attack but it was far more about possession than 100 mile an hour kick and rush stuff.
