From day one he was my choice, I just wish I'd backed him. It seemed pointless at the time, he wasn't remotely in the frame and why would anyone in their right mind back Purslow and the other snakes to do the right thing by the club? Even though he was my #1 choice I wasn't expecting an appointment of his calibre, which is why...like Chris...I just don't expect it to happen.

Inter Milan are planning a 50 million bid for Liverpool trio, Rafa wants Mascherano, Dirk Kuyt & Glen Johnson to join him at Milan club. Other news is that Steven Gerrard has decided to join Real Madrid.

Pepe Reina has voiced his concerns for next season as he prepares for a tough season without Gerrard and Torres. Scary times ahead if you are a Liverpool fan.

Roy Hodgson will become Liverpool manager after the World cup, he was chosen ahead of Pellegrini as he has proved he can run a team on a shoe string budget, Kenny Dalglish will also take on a bigger role at the club, he will also take charge of the youth academy.

I remember when benitez first took charge of us and he immediately changed the style of play from the long ball that houllier used to use and tried to build up play from the wide areas.

I remember thinking that I hadnt seen those sorts of patterns of play under gerrard and hopefully if pellegrini does join then we can start something new.

The other thing is that if he does take the reins he might not be so receptive to selling gerrard to those ****ers from madrid.

I wonder what happens if Pellegrini comes in and gets us playing high tempo attacking football - will Tomkins suddenly start saying that this is the right way to play, and totally contradict from all the backing he gave to our slow tempo game under Rafa?
