Because he finished 7th?Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostEven with them we face a massive task, apparently Tottenham are wrapping up Cavani and Kjær from Palermo and City are getting even stronger, we'd be lucky to finish top 6. I think 7th is about right by the look of things. Why the **** did they sack Rafa!"With Ron Yeats in defence, we could play Arthur Askey in goal."

Personally I think Hodgson is a decent man, an experienced coach, well respected in the game. It astonishes me that he's even considering coming to Liverpool at the moment, the mess we're in.
I know he's not a big showbiz name but, in a way maybe that's a relief. I know most people want Dalglish but ask Newcastle and Celtic fans about his recent atempts at building a side and you'll realise what a disaster it would be appointing him.
I for one don't want Dalglish's legacy at this club to be tarnished by an unsuccessful second period as manager during a period of unprecedented upheaval.
So enough with the personal insults before the bloke has even taken the job.Monkey Tennis

It's just every day though Shaggy, people whinging and slating him already and he's not even in the club man it's ridiculous.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostWho is slagging him off? Being opposed to the appointment is an entirely different thing. Who's slagged him off?
Fair enough if people oppose him coming in that's fine but he is pretty much nailed on as manager and I just feel as though most (not all) of us are pretty much on his case already which is crazy.
We're better fans than that and I find it dissapointing.
Originally posted by Vermilion View PostNo, we don't, because that's exactly what the owners would have us do, just sit back, accept it...and let them get on with pillaging the club.
Fans do need to unite yes, but not in support of this manager, but in defiance of this ownership and the pathetic place they have now taken this club to with all THEIR ****in debt and lies.
I want us to keep fighting the owners and the board but that's not the case here.
We as fans have no real say over who comes in as Manager which is why we need to get on with it and back him the best we can.
We can all still fight what's happening with them wrecking the club, that's something we can all still influence.

Anyway, let's all get along. We've got a nice new polite manager who we could all enjoy a glass of wine and a cigar with.Originally posted by fernandinho View Postjust seemed like he piled the whole blame on rafa that we didnt do well...
The measure will be how Fergie reacts to it. I bet he'll be full of praise, nice as pie towards Woy at first. If they hate each other by the end of the season, things will be fine.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Torres's comments today certainly seem to confirm what at the time looked him and Gerrard going of to the WC and leaving Rafa to the dogs, no words of support, nothing.. and if they both wanted him out, Stevie at least might welcome an English replacement.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View Posthttp://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/philmcnul...liverpool.html
Great article. Look at the comments by Danny Murphy. Then wonder if he and Gerrard still speak. When you arrive to the correct conclusion that they do, may be you will see a possibility that means Gerrard would be positive about Hodgson.
That is what I'm seeing. I orginally wanted Louis van Gaal, then Dalglish. But we are getting Hodgson. May as well try and see the positives.Last edited by Helios Creed; 29-06-10, 04:34 PM.

What did you expect he to say. "I'm heart broken"? They may or may not like the manager but they are professional sportsmen, not adopted children of Rafa.Originally posted by Helios Creed View PostTorres's comments today certainly seem to confirm what at the time looked him and Gerrard going of to the WC and leaving Rafa to the dogs, no words of support, nothing..Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Yep. How's that for gratitude eh? Benitez turned them both into substantially better players. One bad season and they hang him out to dry. Absolutely spineless.Originally posted by Helios Creed View PostTorres's comments today certainly seem to confirm what at the time looked him and Gerrard going of to the WC and leaving Rafa to the dogs, no words of support, nothing..Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He's manager of Inter Milan ffs. Hardly been hung out to dry. And you are doing the old trick of commenting based on one side of an interview. The quotes you are considering are said in response to specific questions and the whole interview will not have been reported.
You're better than that man, better than that
