I'm pretty sure that if he had just asked for more money, been told 'no' and got on with it he would still be here. Infact, he talked to the press about how livepool needed x million to compete, after having presided over a poor season where he failed to get his players delivering to their potential. Not blaming him for not accepting that, be if he had, he wouln't have been sacked.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostNo, they sacked him because he asked them for things, like you know, money for players.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

the truth is rafa always had an uneasy relationship with the board / owners and he was just too politically astute.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostNo, they sacked him because he asked them for things, like you know, money for players.
Sooner or later it was going to end badly because he's one of those managers that spits his dummy out unless he gets what he wants and unfortunately you cant always have that not just in football but in every walk of life.
But you have to give rafa credit for putting up with ****wits like parry, gillett, hicks and now purslow. You really have to love the club and fans to put up with that sort of incompetence for the time that he did.
Torres didnt exactly say he was rubbish and we werent going anywhere underneath him. He diplomatically placed the emphasis on the board and the owners which deflected the heat away from rafa.
I suppose we'll find out the truth when carra, gerrard and torres release their own autobiographies in a few years.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Doesn't matter whether he's jobless, Inter Milan manager or assistant manager at KFC in Wakefield...the point I was making is that, in my opinion and based on the deafening silences from both Gerrard & Torres (it's no coincidence Dirk & Pepe could 'find the time' in their hectic World Cup schedules to comment on Rafa's shafting), they turned their backs on him, hung him out to dry - left him exposed. And, given the way he improved both players (and in Nando's case brought him into the big time)...I think that's a bit ****. It's like walking out on your missus after your first argument. **** that.Originally posted by Operation View Post
He's manager of Inter Milan ffs. Hardly been hung out to dry. And you are doing the old trick of commenting based on one side of an interview. The quotes you are considering are said in response to specific questions and the whole interview will not have been reported.
You're better than that man, better than that
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Well when his nett spend the previous season is below 0, it is unsurprising that he can't compete with the teams around spending a lot and having been promised transfer funds by the board that never materialised, of course he will be asking for funds. I seriously doubt he was sacked for anything other than political reasons.Originally posted by Operation View PostI'm pretty sure that if he had just asked for more money, been told 'no' and got on with it he would still be here. Regardless of who comes in. Whilst the two cunts still own the club we will finish in the bottom half of the table next seasonOriginally posted by Baracus View PostIf Roy is appointed where to people think we will finish with him in the league
I'd say same area as last season 7-9 position

I would have expected some words of support (I'm talking about in the weeks before he was kicked out) - they always had said good things in the past and their silence at that point was noticeable and significant.

depending on ins and outs, but with roughly the same team at his diposal as Rafa had last year. I would expect a top 4-6 finish.Originally posted by Baracus View PostIf Roy is appointed where to people think we will finish with him in the league
