I don't understand all the negativity about Roy Hodgson being appointed as our new manager. He's being judged before he's even started. Shocking.

I agree that the team is better than the results showed last year but cause we don't have any depth we cannot really expect that we will be challenging next year if things stay status quo.Originally posted by red g View Postdepending on ins and outs, but with roughly the same team at his diposal as Rafa had last year. I would expect a top 4-6 finish.
Rafa hada ****e season last year and this team is much better.
7th-9th you lot really think this team is that ffs? or hodgson is that bad a manager.
Even if we keep Stevie, Torres etc. without any new players to strengthen our weak spots (e.i. LB, striker, left and right winger etc.) we will not be in position to compete with likes of Man City, Spurs (no point of mentioning other big 3) who are already in process of improving their squad.
To me, 7-9 next year would be realistic expectation. Sad, sad days are awating...Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

The negativity on this forum is due being owned by a pair of cunts.Originally posted by Joey Jones View PostI don't understand all the negativity about Roy Hodgson being appointed as our new manager. He's being judged before he's even started. Shocking.
In my opinion Uncle Roy is a decent manager, but he has done nothing as yet to prove that he can be mentioned in the same breath as Rafa.
We have a pair of parasitic cunt owners, who will employ a manager, who will not give them hassle, whilst they continue to rape, pillage and destroy our club

The negativity towards Hodgson would still be there whoever the owners would be.Originally posted by Assassin View PostThe negativity on this forum is due being owned by a pair of cunts.

If most of the people on here don't think he's good enough to manage LFC, then fair enough. All I'd say is just give him a chance.

I just want them to get on with an appointment. Preseason training starts in 3 days, and we are still headless. I'm tired of hearing everyone's brother's girlfriend's sister's postman rumours, just get on with business. If it's Roy (not my choice), then get on with appointing him, so he can start prepping the team.

I think it's a bit more nuanced than that.Originally posted by Joey Jones View PostI don't understand all the negativity about Roy Hodgson being appointed as our new manager. He's being judged before he's even started. Shocking.
I don't have a problem with Roy and I do think he's a good manager, but I don't think he's a great manager. I think we need and should have a great manager. OR at the very least someone who has the opportunity to become a great manager. Roy is 62. For me the main problem is that he'll only ever be a stop gap - he's never going to build a legacy.
The other thing that bugs me is that he clearly doesn't want this job first. He wants the England job - I don't blame him as it is his last chance for it, but given we aren't his first choice I think we should move on.
The problem is that we may have a great deal of mutual respect, Roy and LFC, but we are clearly not each others first choice, or possibly even second choice.Really?

I don't have a problem with him in the slightest but I am opposed to his appointment. I will of course get behind him - I wouldn't be a supporter if I didn't.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Lippi??
Lippi in late Liverpool link
Published 18:49 29/06/10 By Mirror Football Recommend (1)
Marcello Lippi has emerged as an 11th hour contender to take the Liverpool job - despite Roy Hodgson being on the point of agreeing to take the Anfield hot-seat.
Reports from Italy suggest the former Azzuri coach, whose team went out of the World Cup in miserable style last week, has become the Reds' fall-back position should anything go wrong with their move for Hodgson.
Fulham's manager is still expected to make the switch from Craven Cottage as early as Thursday and work in tandem with his friend Kenny Dalglish.
But with Fabio Capello's position as England manager now in serious jeopardy, the Premier League giants see Lippi as their top target in case Hodgson is persuaded to take the international job,
