Very satisfying win against the dirty cloggers.
Aside from a slow start, we outplayed them and earnt it.
Kuyt was excellent, as was Agger and Torres always a goal threat despite not having a great game - that's why you dont take him off.
Lucas took his goal beautifully, and enhanced the view that he is NOT a holding midfielder, but is being asked to do a role that isnt remotely suited to his game. Kyrgiakos was also a start and is proving to be a great signing.
Pleasing that such an attacking adventurous opponent couldnt score from open play against us in over 3 hours of football.

Did anyone else notice right at the end of the game, just before the final whistle,a section of the croud started singing"Are you watching Manchester" to which the majority of the ground started booing.......it was a bid odd like.-----------------------------------------------

Very true, Im sure Rafa said shortly after he signed, that he would play him there (rightly or wrongly) to help his development and all round game. When I first saw Lucas on Youtube i thought he looked like a quality (albeit in the Brazilian league) box to box dynamic midfielder.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostVery satisfying win against the dirty cloggers.

I can't stop singing this song that I heard at a Gold Coast United match. *( team names can be changed for whoever )
Build a bonfire, Build a bonfire,
Put United on the top,
Put Benfica under neath them
And burn the bloody lot
Build a bonfire ...........Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Because we don't sing about other teams when we're not playing against them, surely?
Only lesser teams (Everton, Spurs, Manure) do that in their moments of truimph, without realising that it betrays their inate and continuing inferiority.
