That's what I thought and can find no reference of him ever playing for the Barca first team.

      Oh I don't know.

How ****ing annoying - heard he is out for 6 weeks on radio this morning.....so due back right in time for the ****ing world cup, where he will play when not quite fully recovered, come back to us pre-season burnt out again, and we have another season where he is in and out.

Poor lad is just ran into the ground. Both club and country should do what's best for him and sign him off for 3 months or so - I'm pretty confident that a proper rest, recovery and not being rushed to play will sort out all these niggles and injuries and he would then come back stronger.

Then hopefully next season we have another striker capable of either partnering/covering for torres and we can use him properly instead of asking him to chase lost causes and get the **** kicked out of him for 90 mins.

only trouble is convicning torres he needs the rest. he is choking to play in this world cup as it is easily the best chance spain have had and possibly will have to win the world cup this summer. as much as i disagree with international football, torres will desperately want to be crowned a world cup winner and as such i can see him telling the medical staff he is fine and ready to play this summer even if it means he is missing for big chunks of next season again.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

He never played a single first team game for Barcelona.

Aye – totally agree - i can understand it, of course you would want to play in the world cup – maybe it’s just me being selfish - it’s just the timing of it. If he was fully recovered say in four weeks then fine, he should be ready for the world cup, or if he was out for 8 weeks, then great he missed the world cup... but the six weeks full right bang on the deadline for leaving the world cup, meaning he will be taken, and will be rushed back into playing. – We all know what happens, it doesn’t just happen to footballers or athletes, it happens to anyone – you get injured, doctor says you are out for say 4 weeks, and then usually you are still another week or two away from 100% after that.

The unfortunate side to it all is Torres doesn't need the rest now, how much of this season has he missed?? probably 3 months all in, 2 operations when physical activity is minimal in the immediate time after the ops, bits and pieces on rehab then back into light training before joining back in normal training.

What is without doubt though is his body cannot handle the lone striker role week in week out, especially how we play our football this season.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I would still point to the tactics opposition teams use against him, constant fouling and kicking and it adds up.

same problem as arshavin had. was pretty darm good when he arrived but this year he has been kicked and fouled persistently and this season he has been non-existent through form and injuries.

with torres, it may help to play another man up top to take the heat off him more and "share" the kicking if you will.

He was always so lively and zipping around all over the place in an advanced attacking midfield position. He doesnt need to be in the box to score, he can bringing the ball from either side and go for it. He's a brilliant little player but here he's just so constricted in his play style every time I watch him. Its certainly doing his skill level massive amounts of harm.

We got him at 16. Unless you're in Spain and have access to Barca's youth team training ground, you won't have ever seen him play aside from for us. But hey, lets not let facts get in the way.

We are definitely constricting the little genius' play. Goddamnit, why is it that we always ruin amazingly talented players? He'd be at least as good as Messi anywhere else
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

Maybe he's confusing him with Messi actually. Or Bojan. Or Dos Santos (the **** has happened to him by the way?)

                              He's on loan at Darlington.
