    Btw, I got the joke.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Was meant to be studying all day today, so naturally I spent the whole day watching Liverpool videos and I stumbled across this one.

      [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGAusKj8FPI"]YouTube - Manchester United 1 - 4 Liverpool[/ame]

It looked like Riera actually had the fire in his belly and wanted to do well, its a shame it didn't work out for him because he was so so much better then people gave him credit for in that season and what we have replaced him with since then has been generally terrible.

Anyway its a good video and brings back some good memories as well. Enjoy!

Provided excellent balance to that side during the season. Pity his form and morale suffered the year after.

He actually started the next season well when he played, don't forget he started the season under an injury cloud. He actually set up Fernando's goal vs United last season when we beat them at Anfield.

Riera was an excellent player & added excellent balance to the squad. He had troubles acclimatising himself to the demands of squad rotation and his morale dropped in the end.
            Are we winning?

I think Riera was better than we gave credit for. He always got balls into the box, and had a vicious strike. Also he didn't mind staying on the wing.

Yep, he was a decent footballer who gave us natural width, which we lack badly right now. We had no choice but to get rid though really, his attitude stank. Shame.

The rumour was that he ****ted Pacheco. He had a square jaw. I wish he was still our player - I think he's scored a fair few goals in Greece too. The few times him and Insua played together, we looked amazing down that flank. Now all we have to look forward to is Konchesky and Maxi/Cole/Jovanovic.

I am not sure it was Pacheco who was rumoured. I believe it was rumoured he slapped/hit a young player. Not sure it was even an out and out hit, although that is easily enough.

Reira was very average and added nothing to LFC except for being a left footed player on the left side of midfield, if anything he made us play narrower by cutting inside every single time that "he gave is balance and width" is so untrue. He Didn't score, didn't create, didn't run at players, didn't beat a man, didn't get crosses in, zero productivity for him and had a poxy attitude. Shocking buy and is now where a player of his ability should be, sunny Greece. Played well first 5 or 6 games, much like Johnson did, but i struggle to remember a single good game he played any time after that, good riddance.

Really?? Hop onto youtube and you will be suprised just how many highlights there are of play he was involved in, in the 1 season he played for us. Considering he was a Left Midfielder in a team who played basically always through Gerrard/Torres/Kuyt/Alonso his direct involvement in play was still very good.

Youtube can always make a player look good, but it isn't just the quality, but the quantity of good stuff he did. I always felt he didn't do much but as the videos will show he actually did quite a lot.

Mate, if you had any modicum of sensibleness in your posts, I think a lot of people would give you credit for it. But judging by this post, you are clearly leaving yourself to be shot at. What are you trying to achieve with this?

Granted that he had an attitude problem but to state that he was only 'left footed' and 'never gave us width' is preposterous to say the least.

1 goal and 6 assist in 2 season, IMO thats enough said.

Youtube is irrelevant, sure Lucas was scoring 30 yarders on there and looked like Messi. I watched Riera play full games live and on tv, he killed any spontaneity in our play and made us so predictable and narrow the way he plays, lazy ******* aswell. The guy seriously lacked productivity and the ability to make it in the premier league.

Failed at 2 premier league clubs and rightfully playing in a lesser league.
