Wow, i'm learning more and more about LFC fans, i never realised there would be fans who didn't give a **** about utd passing our record.

And don't dress it up as being more arsed about what we do, because obviously every fan is more concerned with that, but not to give a **** about utd, well your very special people, i just don't have such a trained brain....my emotion/passion just gets the better of me.

Yes they may well surpass us one day anyway, but the longer that go's on the better imo, because once it happens and they get that 19th....that's all we'll hear about for years.

Also, The Scum getting so close to our record could go down in history as just that, with future tales told of how close they got to surpassing us in the season we were taken over by wealthy new owners...who then led the club back to the top and so staved off the Scums attempt to overtake us.....for ever....and we all lived happily ever after. (except for Craig obviously)

Meaning if we win both our games we can finish above them both, but I can't see Spurs failing to pick up at least 4 more points from their games against Bolton and Burnley. So for me we'll finish 5th at best.
Spurs are def. favorites to take fourth now

They have wo games that most likely will give them 6 points and at the very least 4 points so they only need a draw against citeh.

City will be looking good if they manage to win over either Villa or spurs which is quite realistic.

Plus we are thinking like we are dead certain to win against chelsea, a game I honestly don't think we will get anything from right now, and at best 1 point.

With the season we've had even if it were in our own hands and we just had to win our last 2 games I wouldn't be too confident, given that we need 3 teams to slip up and beat Chelsea 4th is gone. Oddly I have a feeling we'll beat Chelsea and effectively hand the title to the mancs although even a draw would effectively do that.

if we were celtic or rangers fans and that was all there was to shout about ( a one on one rivalry ) then i'd be more concerned but the truth of the matter is i dont see manure as our biggest threat and as such i'm more focused on city and villa and spurs.

of course it will be disappointing to see them overtake us and hold the record but again i see that as sort of living in the past. i'm an lfc fan of 2010 and as such i dont care what manure do......i'm only concerned at the state we are in right now.

IF we get back on form and next year or the year after we are fighting for the title then i'd probably change my point of view but as it is i couldnt really care less.

yeah, worst case scenario would be us talking points from chelski handing the title to the scum and still only finsishing 5th or 6th

I wouldn't be able to see my manc friends for weeks after that!

Maybe some people will think I'm deluded for saying this but I think that are above the current level of Spurs, City and Villa. Some people will say that the league table doesn't lie, and yes we have been woeful this season for a number of reasons which I'm not going into. But as far as I'm concerned this season is a blip. As badly as we have played, many regard City and Spurs to have done really well, but they're still only a couple of points ahead of us. So a very good Spurs or City side is only slightly better than a poor off form Liverpool side, and I think that if it were possible to start this season again, we couldn't do as badly as we've done this time around. I think next season we will do better. How much better depends on the funds we have available, compared to the other clubs, and how we strengthen in the summer.

I don't know. It's not as if we shed a load of points in a couple of month period, we have been utterly dire away from Anfield throughout the season.

I still think it's a blip, we're better than our away performances this season have shown, our home form I believe is better this season than last. If we can address this problem we'll be fine IMO.

We've certainly been below our real level away from home. Worrying thing is that the league doesn't stand still and there will be just as much competition for 4th next year as this. We need a new approach, I don't think a few new players will fundamentally change our fortunes.

True, but I don't necessarily believe that we would be the team drawn into the battle. We need to get our squad right, certain areas need addressing another striker being the key one IMO. I think we started the season off with a fairly attack minded team, but there were issues, in order to address them we went a little more defensive. But recently we have seen the likes of Lucas and Kuyt (in RM role at least) playing less, whether this is due to fitness or a change in tactics I don't know, but it would be interesting to see how things develop.

The only 4th I am thinking about is the 4th I want to avoid.... i.e. coming 4th out of us, Citeh, Spurs and Villa!

I'd be scared of beating Chelsea giving the title to United and still not finishing 4th !

IF Spurs drop points against Bolton on Saturday, then we send a team out to beat Chelsea on Sunday.

IF Spurs get 3 points against Bolton, then we send a second team out against Chelsea - Simple!
