Rather we finish 7th than Scum win the league. Bet we beat or draw with the Chavs tho...

Finishing out of the top 4 will be good(sad to say that). It will drive the price of the club down and get rid of H&G quicker. New owners in place and hopefully enough funds to mount a serious assault on the PL title next season. I hope the Scum dont win the title also, oooh thats too painful to think abt.

Maybe not. H&G will probably be the last to acknowledge that the price has fallen.Originally posted by Rix007 View PostFinishing out of the top 4 will be good(sad to say that). Well I for one am hoping we get beat by Chelsea so those fucing Manc don't win the league this year because they have been literally a 1 man team.
Also we've got to hope that Spurs get 4th because A) Redknapp is the most over rated manager ever and he won't make a success of it and B) if Man City get CL football added to their wealth then they'll buy some great players.
If Spurs get 4th I'll wager with anyone now they won't be in the Top 4 next season, Man City could replace us for years to come if they get 4th and if we don't sort our own house out behind the scenesThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Why does that matter?Originally posted by Craig_H View PostIf we cant get 4th, i'm hoping Villa do.
They'd be very liable to **** up the qualifier.
Whoever gets there in our place won't get near winning it, so a little run in Europe won't do any damage IMO. Might even cause them issues in the league, and lets face it, we'll probably be vying with them again come the end of the season
My worry is if City get in, I could well see them staying there

we dont want teams doing **** in Europe. the English co-efficient is falling, especially without any semi-finalists in CL. At this rate if teams do ****e next year especially if they dont even win their qualifiers then there might not even be a 4th place spot for Europe come the year after next96 Never Forgotten

It matters because City would go from strength to strength, whilst Spurs could use the glory of CL football to improve an already strong squad.Originally posted by Fierce View PostWhy does that matter?

Villa dont have the squad, dont have big money and dont have the lure of London, when it comes to attracting players. The positive impact of CL football on Aston Villa, would be miles smaller than that on Spurs or City.

Also Villa have used a fairly small number of players consistently throughout the season, if they made the Champions League, thery would have problems doing this consistently IMO making it difficult to do well in the league as well next season.
City and Spurs have bigger squads already and will strengthen in the summer (especially if they are in CL).The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I also said I don't want City winning it, because they have the money to compete for the title. At the minute they don't have the status to go with it, but being in the CL would improve that no end
Villa would also be my choice for taking 4th, but I don't care how big a run in they'll have as it would more than likely have a negative impact on their season
They'll stand a much better chance if we beat the Chavs thoughOriginally posted by Chrono View PostWe are not getting 4th but by the same token at least the Mancs wont win the league.I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
