ok first off, they're not in the CL yet, whoever gets 4th will still have to play two legs against opposition from other top leagues (spain, germany, italy, france, portugal,..). and with both clubs lacking experience at that level they just might get knocked out. do you think city/spurs would be guaranteed to go through against the likes of valencia, milan, leverkusen, fiorentina, lyon,..?Jürgen Klopp

yeh, and quite comfortably. they have good teams right now and if they signed another couple of top class players then i would expect both teams to be more than capable of getting to the group stages.Originally posted by SlovenianKopite View Postok first off, they're not in the CL yet, whoever gets 4th will still have to play two legs against opposition from other top leagues (spain, germany, italy, france, portugal,..). and with both clubs lacking experience at that level they just might get knocked out. do you think city/spurs would be guaranteed to go through against the likes of valencia, milan, leverkusen, fiorentina, lyon,..?People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

i'm not so sure, they aren't used to playing in these sorts of matches, and just how well have spurs done in europe in the last few seasons? they haven't been all that great, and what makes you think they'll be any better when facing even thougher opposition?Originally posted by the rev leeroy brown View Postyeh, and quite comfortably. they have good teams right now and if they signed another couple of top class players then i would expect both teams to be more than capable of getting to the group stages.
buying more expensive players doesn't mean you can't get beat in elimination games, where experienced coaches and players used to playing with such pressure, are the only things that really matter.
just look at everton when they were fourth and then easily went out to villareal. who's to say that can't happen to spurs or city? it happened to better teams than them...Jürgen Klopp

For this transfer window I don't think a qualification game really matters. If City go to the agents of Buffon, Robben, Ribery etc they will say "come and sign for us and you can play in the champions league next season..." All the top draw players will be signed before the qualification rounds begin...

Man City getting into the champions league would be disastrous for us as they could then attract almost any player in the world their their unlimited wealth
Plus they may sack the manager if they fail and have to rebuild with a new manager ( as long as it isn't the special one )
" now I'm not so sure that's a good thing ?? "
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.
