That plus the WC extending our better players seasons? Not ideal IMO
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I would be annoyed if we had to use any of the players from WC to get though 1st qualifying!

We'd be playing friendlies then anyway. I agree it's not ideal but at the same time I think it's far from a massive concern. I think it is almost always a bad idea to play a very weakened side but I think in this case a balance towards getting a few players experience is probably as good an alternative as any, if they are close to being given a chance they should get one in this game I'd say.

          reina

ayala ( if carra not fit ) / zorba / agger

          maxi / aqua / mash / ste / benni

          babel / pacheco

I think Reina is now one behind Cech, so we need Wigan to score and us to keep a clean sheet for them to both share the Golden Gloves.

Van de Sar and Cech have missed quite a few games through injury which is why Reina is still in with a chance. If it was based on percentages - he'd be fecked (through the incompetence of some of our defending)

Do they get one glove each or does one get the pair for six months at a time?
                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

They both get a pair I believe, they are bough on a "Buy one, get one free" basis.

Sunday's results moved Cech level with Liverpool's Pepe Reina in the race for the Premier League Golden Glove. Both now have 16 clean sheets.

Sorry I didn't mean to hi-jack the thread, but it seems the golden gloves for Pepe are all we ahave to play for. And given how poor a season the team has had, if he could come away with that it would show how impressive he's been and what an important role he has had for us this season. Our player of the year!

Just want to see an attacking line up. Maybe give a few of the youngsters a game too.

Sammy Lee admits Jamie Carragher and Maxi Rodriguez face a race against time in order to be fit for Liverpool's final game of the season against Hull City on Sunday.

Carragher sustained a twisted ankle during the clash with Chelsea, while Maxi picked up an adductor injury.

Both players limped off against the Londoners and are yet to resume training.

"They picked up knocks on Sunday and haven't trained with the team as yet," Lee told Liverpoolfc.tv.

"It's still early days and we're not too sure whether they'll be ready for the weekend, but we're just taking it day by day."

The Reds were boosted by the return of Martin Skrtel to training on Wednesday, though Lee admits the Hull game could come too soon for the Slovakian.

"Martin Skrtel joined us for training yesterday, which was a nice plus," said the assistant boss.

"The weekend may come too soon for him but it's good to have people coming back."

Yeah just in time for the two months or three months when we aren't playing.
                              Great boost.
