Lucas deserves a place hands down, if not only as a squad player, which im sure he and most discerning fans would be happy about.
The thing that pisses me of about Aquaman is the circumstances in the first place.... We had 'around' 40 mil to spend in that window (Johnson i have no problem with) .... We lost our creative midfielder granted (who realistically cannot be replaced by anyone)... Yet we have one of the best midfielders in the world in the team already. Half the reason the Gerrard - Torres partnership worked is because we had Alonso to set the intelligent though/long balls to either... Alonso went. Bite the bullet split the partnership up, drag Gerrard back to midfield and spend the remaining money on a (not necessarily world class) striker who can slot a goal..... but more importantly create space, take some slack off Torres and create opportunities for him.
The main point everyone (and i mean eveyone) said was if Torres had stayed all fit last season we would have won the league.... Which i dont disagree with.... So why the **** did we expect him to be able to do that this season round (particularly when he gets the **** kicked out of him every opportunity possible)!?
Yet the decision was to bring in a European footballer (that would take at least a season to bed in anyway) who was ****in injured!..... We didnt have the money, time or the luxury to do this.
